I think I decided on everyone’s camp names for the camp maggot setting, although I don’t know what to do with this information. I went with more traditional naturey nicknames mostly.

No idea if I’ll actually write a story with this setting but it’s fun to daydreamb. For those keeping track

Sid: Sports (nn Sweet Pea)

I think it was Ross (?) who said something like that Sid puts an ‘amazingly sweet vibe into every room’. Of course he’s a sweetpea.

Joey: Climbing (nn Gecko)

I was thinking of cresties because there’s a black/red variant (more orangey tho) and they have cute, grippy little paws. They could probably hold tiny drumsticks. Plus in this setting obviously they’re good at climbing.

Paul: Paddle aka boating (nn Piglet)

They are both friend shaped (also obviously referencing his pig mask although I don’t know if they have a band yet).

Chris: Arts & Crafts (nn Bug)

Originally I thought of Weevil (a reference to his mask , weevils are beetles with long snouts). Bug sounded better.

Jim: Camping (nn Biscuit)

a nickname from camperhood, after Seabiscuit because he had/has ‘horse girl hair’. Also because he is all legs like a horse.

Craig: Archery (nn Cricket)

Still notoriously quiet here so, so crickets.

Shawn: Nature (nn Moose)

Big, cranky, could kill you, looks cute, could kill you, still cute.

Mick: Camping (nn Bubbles)

Just one of those dumb nicknames that are like opposites, he gets a cute nickname because he’s big and kinda scary. But the kids still love him.

Corey: Swimming (nn Tigger)

Boundless energy. Also ginger. This just felt right too.

Alessandro: Nature (nn Blossom)

I am once again thinking about the flower beard pic but this one also just felt right. And a little bit more opposite-nickname funny because blossoms are small and delicate.

Jay: Arts and Crafts (nn Juju)

Just a play on his name from Jay to Jay-Jay Juju. This one just felt right.

Michael: Climbing (nn Slinky)

This guy is constantly moving I swear. Also I think he gets accidentally tangled in the low ropes elements a lot. Maybe not so accidentally too.

All of these are identical on the Simple English Wiki version, from what I could tell. It is kind of cute to see what details get included that you might otherwise miss in the regular English Wikipedia though:

the Jim page is a little out of date, but lets us know that Jim enjoys fishing and playing video games in his spare time :)

Not much for Joey, but seems like Simple English (and therefore KidzSearch) doesn't get updated as frequently, since some of the verbs are still present tense:

I love how like 3/4 of this article is devoted to 1. his antics and 2. his injuries (and letting us know about how much he loves Transformers).

I was a little surprised that the KidzSearch wiki still included info on drugs, for example, but it appears to only really censor sexual content.

jim’s a little confused after getting home from a night out (for this fic by tumblr user @wheresyoursavior). quick like five-minute doodle at midnight, before I go to sleep. but this fic super cute! <3

it’s 6′ 6′‘ for jim versus 6′ 3′‘ for mick, so they’re still big guitar bois - jim is just the Biggest Boi :)

One thing I like about Scrivener is the snapshots feature - you can save different versions of your work and view them or roll back changes to that point at any time. muuuch easier than just hitting undo a bunch or having endless version files in a folder and forgetting which is which.

('skim milk version' here is the most barebones stage that's more than an outline but not super fleshed out. the low-fat version that hasn't been properly seasoned yet, basically just me talking myself through what happens and going from there).
