After exploring the museum, and enjoying a giant piece of chocolate cake (coffee and cake is one of the great parts of German culture), I walked outside to the Garden at the Jewish Museum of Berlin. The weather had been changing every 15 minutes the last two days, so it was extraordinary to catch a moment where the clouds were breaking up to let through a bit of sun and sky, as a back drop to the green-green hedges, the budding reddish trees, and the grey-blue of the Museum's exterior. It was nice to be reminded that German-Jewish history isn't only heavy. It is also beautiful and joyous. Speaking of which, if you are in Berlin, I highly recommend the Museum's temporary exhibit Cherchez la Femme. It shows a wide range of ideas and opinions regarding women's head and body coverings in Jewish, Muslim, and Christian tradition. #havelovewilltravel #travelphotography #berlin #germany #jmberlin #liebeskind #liebeskindberlin #museum #architecture #garden (at Jüdisches Museum Berlin | Jewish Museum Berlin)
