“I’m bad at texting first, so I always end up hoping you will.”
The two had shared a few drinks together, not to the point where she was actually drunk, but just enough for them to share some more honest thoughts, without feeling embarrassed about them after. Soeun lied down on the grass, thrilled that they could finally sit on the grass again, without freezing to death. They had met by chance, again since none of them were good at this whole reaching out part. But there they were, naked not in the literal sense but stripped of their usual barriers which the sober life had built up. It was freeing in many ways.

Soeun had hesitated several times, struggled whether she should press send or not, but in the end it had been the latter. She was happy to hear his words, as if he had read her mind somehow and was trying to ensure her that he would write back.
“Is that so?” She turned to her side, finding his gaze before reaching for the beer can. “That’s so typical guys.” She teased, taking a sip before turning to her initial position, looking up at the the few visible stars in the sky. “I’ll be sure to text you a lot from now on, be sure of it.” There was a hint of a smile on her lips, but not quite obvious.
