“You jump, I jump. Remember?”
her grip was tight around the bouquet of roses, as she slipped her secret to him. the weight she felt on her shoulders everyday was almost unbearable. but he had figured it out, who she was buying the flowers for. she could feel her pulse in her ears and it was overwhelming to finally admit it to him. someone who became a constant friend throughout her grieving process. she took a deep breath to calm herself down and what he said next did exactly that.
a wave of calm rushed over her as her grip loosened around her bouquet. there was something about that statement that just clicked with her. him now having full knowledge of what she was truly dealing with and still wanted to be right by her side meant everything to her. her cheeks flushed pink as she realized what she just said to him. she just spilled her guts for the first time in months. to her crush of all people too. she really only had one idea that would hopefully save her from making this any more embarrassing. with a small smile she looked up from her shoes and answered him.
“you’re right, i would love it if you came to visit with me sometime.”
