Rumpleteazer
Here are Drew Varley and Jo Gibb singing live!
The "Mungojerrie & Rumpleteazer" audio is pretty blurry, so I thought I'd post clips from other musicals where their voices are much easier to hear.
I think Drew's voice is instantly recognizable 😂 As for Jo, I couldn't find a better recording in my collection, so sorry this is the one I'm using! Even so, I think it's pretty clear from this that she wasn't dubbed. Honestly, I think her singing voice in the 1998 film is actually quite close to her natural voice. (In some of the other musicals I have, her singing sounds surprisingly different 😂)
And just to add even more evidence that Jo wasn't dubbed over, I'm including a clip of Vikki Coote's singing as well.
Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer
I am half convinced either the camera guys or the editors for Cats 1998 had a crush on Jo Gibb. I swear this girl has more close-ups and screen time then the rest of the cast.
(FYI I'm not complaining. She's fantastic and hilarious and gorgeous. But sir/ma'am, there are like 30 other cats in this performance. I wish the shots were more evenly distributed between them)
