JO MARSH
You don’t know how to stay tender with so much blood in your mouth.
Anyone see what I’m saying here
that moment in Little Women (2019) where the girls are stood at the back of Meg's wedding and there's a split second where you can see Jo's hand in Laurie's pocket and she looks so scared but happy for her sister and everyone feels so connected by the summery haze over all the memories in the film but the fact that she's holding her best friends hand, so intimately but subtly, is gorgeous. Laurie knows she needs him, knows she's scared and so he stands with her. It's small details like that that establish their relationship, that shows us they are best friends and soulmates, platonically, before anything else
Me: It's 2019! Let this be the year when Jo March remains single at the end of the movie! Let this director have the sense to write a happy ending for Jo without romance! It's what Louise May Alcott would have wanted!
Mr. Bhaer: (Speaks)
Me: I only wish happiness for this beautiful couple
'I'm happy as I am, and love my liberty too well to be in any hurry to give it up'
Jo March, a lesbian...
"Women... they have minds and they have souls as well as just hearts. And they've got ambition and they've got talent as well as just beauty, and I'm so sick of people saying that love is just all a woman is fit for. I'm so sick of it! But... I am so lonely."
I will never forget the way Jo Marsh said “im so lonely” that shit really hit me.
