Joanna Hogg made a trailer for the Viennale film festival. It's called "Awakening," which is what you'll need after watching it.
She joins the ranks of David Lynch (who gave us a screaming rubber duck) and Jean-Luc Godard (who gave us tanks and love) in the festival's tradition of letting auteurs be... well, auteurs.
It's designed to be a "profoundly personal and political gesture." Translation: it will be brilliant, baffling, and make you feel intellectually inferior for not "getting it."
Cinema has an "inexhaustible power of renewal." So does my coffee maker. Only one of them is actually essential before 9 AM.
