tell me about Fay and the foxes??? if you want to
Okay so, I'm sorry to answer this ask so randomly because it's been half a year. I was looking in my drafts for something and discovered it there! When I went to answer this a hundred years ago, Tumblr glitched and I thought this was lost forever. But no, it's been in my drafts apparently? :/
Anyway! Fay is my AFTG OC. We left off with him deciding to apply to PSU for a fresh start. (Here's the rest of my Fay Posts if anyone wants to check them out or get reacquainted with my loser.)

When Fay gets down to PSU, he's excited and relieved to be back in classes. The routine of it all is grounding and he lives right off campus in a tiny apartment that's just for him. It's plainly decorated, just the necessities and his clothes. He's got a TV and a couch. And that's about fucking it. But he doesn't need much. He lived in a storage unit for a month, this is heaven compared to that.
He has a tough time deciding on a major. Because back at UK he was going into psychology, wanted to be a therapist. Wanted to help people. But that was before he'd killed [number redacted] people, before he started having these Symptoms.
Because of his prior studies, he knows things are going on in his head and that most of them are not good. And eventually decides to see someone about it. This leads him to one Betsy Dobson, one of the sweetest people he thinks he's ever met. He was very wary of therapy after the horrors, but she's nice and actually makes him feel like a person again.
With her help, he ends up on some anti-psychotics that keep his hallucinations mostly at bay. And that's great too. Everything is great. But then...
After the news hits campus about Seth, Fay is... Well, freaked out. Sure, the papers are calling it an overdose and it's a textbook case, really. But that's the problem. He's used this *ahem* method before.
Making a murder look like an overdose is easy. And he doesn't know who the fuck had a problem with Seth Gordon, but it's... weird. Or maybe he's losing it again, making connections that aren't there. He does that, he knows. But he'd shared a class with Seth and now the man is dead. Fay's not sure if it means something.
He waits a couple of days, then he just can't stand it. He wanders down to the Foxhole Court and finds himself knocking on Coach Wymack's door. Wymack answers with a 'What the hell do you want?'
Then he realizes this kid isn't one of his. He ignores the fact that this kid shouldn't be able to get into the building (for now) and Fay introduces himself, tells him he's so sorry to hear about his striker. But that he thinks it might've been foul play. ("This might sound insane... But I think the police should be looking into this.")
From the look on the coach's face, it's clear Fay's onto something. ("Wait. You know already, don't you? Someone did this on purpose?" / "I don't know a damned thing, kid. Get out of my office.")
Fay starts to leave, then he notices the photo on the wall and realizes just how tiny this team is. He thinks it's a tragedy that they've lost a teammate and won't get to play anymore. ("What about the ERC? Are they going to let you play with nine Foxes?" / "Is that any of your business?" / "No sir. But I used to play. I haven't in a couple years, hurt my knee. But... if you need another name on the roster, I could hold the bench down.")
And so, after staring at him in confusion for a few seconds, Wymack tells him to sit the hell down and explain his whole deal. So Fay does. He tells him almost the whole truth. That he had to leave his old school after an injury. That he doesn't have any family but he'd changed his name to get away from a stalker, that he used to be Aaron Farris, a goalie (and occasionally striker) sub for the Wildcats.
Wymack tells him that he'll have to think about it, talk to his team and see what they think. And Fay asks him not to tell anyone who he used to be. Wymack agrees not to and takes Fay's phone number. Later that night, Coach watches a couple old games and sees that Fay wasn't lying.
The Foxes are really confused when Wymack tells them about this development. Because what do you mean, some random guy came to your office and asked to take Seth's place? But the team ends up getting the ERC's permission to let him try out. Special circumstances, you know.
He's a little slower than he used to be— courtesy of a fucked-up knee. But to everyone's shock, Fay manages a goal on Andrew. It takes several attempts, because he's rusty and Andrew is Andrew.
Then Fay asks if he can borrow Andrew's racquet and Andrew laughs. ("Are you trying to steal my goal?" / "No, I just thought I'd show you guys what I'm actually good at.") See, Fay is out of practice but he was almost recruited to the Ravens as a goalie— though he keeps that fact under his hat— so he's good. He blocks half the shots Kevin lobs at him and it's clear he actually likes the game.
So yeah, after some deliberation (aka the Foxes plus Coach all chattering over each other) Fay ends up on the team with his old number and his new name. :) Yippee.
Okay! So that's how he makes the team. I'll be back later with more! :) Also if you have any questions about this loser from my mind, please send me an ask. I will be so happy to talk about him!
