最近、joan shelleyという女性SSWを知って、よく聴いてる。 と言ってもここ2〜3日の話。 SmogことBil callahanが好きで、いろいろ作品を追っかけていたら、そのつながりでJoan shelleyに辿り着いた。 （Joan shelleyの『Amberlit Morning』という曲にBill callahanが参加している）

いろいろアルバムを聴いたが、このカバー集が特に気に入ってヘビロテしている。一曲目は言わずと知れたNick Drakeの名曲『Time has told me』。大きなアレンジは無いけれど、彼女らしい作品に仕上がっていて、新鮮に感じる。

生ギターと歌だけのシンガーソングライターと呼ばれるアーティストは、昔ながらのシンプルなアプローチで活動している人が多いけど、確実に今を感じる何かがある。古い曲でも、新しさがあるのは、とても不思議で魅力的だ。
