It's bad obviously that Trump and his handlers (sorry, his enablers who are also using him) are lying about jobs data and trying to tell business leaders how to run their businesses in ways that he thinks would make him look better. BUT it's very funny to then read or watch financial media and money experts (real ones, not grifters) just quietly and constantly disagree and continue to do their own things to try to prepare for the fallout of Trump's stupidity.
The Fox-watching MAGA crowd probably do not care about Bloomberg or Warren Buffet or the head of JP Morgan or any foreign banks or investment companies. But, I, as a regular person who used to work in a rich person town and so sort of paid attention to those things, have been watching the competent money people (evil though many of them are) talk about all this, and they know it's bad. They know it's real bad.
They ought to stand up and get loud about it, but won't of course. Because they are money people, and why do that once they can figure out a way to withstand it/profit from it? But right now, they are all like :( This is bad. And that is what more people should be paying attention to. Wall Street feels like a combination of horoscope guessing and a mood ring for the rich. But the actual in-depth articles and interviews with the smart, conservative-with-their-millions-that-they-have-had-for-generations people shows that those people are not buying what Trump is selling. (Though a lot of them voted for him lol)
(Many libraries offer free magazine subscriptions. And while I can't fully recommend reading economic shit unless you are into it, things like Bloomberg and The Economist *do* give you a glimpse into what the wealthy are doing. And I like to keep my eye on the wealthy; they can't be trusted.)
