Dear Broadway/Theatre

You have effected my life to the point where I couldn't live happily without you and that's more than I can say about anyone or any thing. Thank you.

but but what if after i listened to the music in the musical, i watched the movie and i loved it too. you shouldn't feel bad for me, i'm pretty happy. :)

Eh. I think the musical would be a lot better if they had kept everything the movie had. I'm not saying the two things should be exactly the same, but I grew up with Newsies. I know every word of the script, every song lyric, and with the musical...I know nothing. They wrote out characters, changed song order, took out songs and added in new ones, changed the sex of the one of the important characters to create unneeded tension. Jack Kelly had a love interest in the movie, and with the way it looks in the musical, he was given a new one so that the adaptation of a historical event would be more about the love side story.  They didn't need to change the lyrics they way did and honestly, as someone who has grown up with it, I would probably never see it on Broadway. I feel bad for those who found out about it after because they will compare the movie to the musical, and in my mind there is no comparison.
