I still can’t get over the hype for Pyre, with its great story, stunning visuals and amazing mus-- and I ship Joditha. And I thought of drawing this while on a drive home last weekend, so there ya go.

You know, for a villain who can turn into a shadow, Reaper isn’t a particularly shadowy fighter. Gabriel can be stealthy when he wants to (Recall, Masquerade) but when it comes to combat itself he usually engages his enemies face to face.

He’s got a set of personal rules he functions by, it looks like, whereas Jack will do anything to make sure the job’s done—probably reflective of the angry attitude he’s taken on.

Reaper very clearly operates on some sort of code or at least super professionally and cleanly. He’s not looking to be showy, even with his obvious flare, and tends to just handle things as quickly as possible. He gets his job done and he moves on. Meanwhile, S76 has this slightly wild and only vaguely fluid fighting style. He’s messy, he’s reflex-based, and he’s super impulsive. He’s mad. In the Old Soldiers comic he flat out punches Gabriel and I feel like that’s a weird thing to do when he knows the guy is a questionably solid smoke monster. (I have my own hcs for that comic as a whole but that’s just an interesting detail!) He’s Mad And He’s Here To Hit Things.
