I read a lot of Golden Age Hollywood bios and one of the most startling stories is when Joe DiMaggio banned Frank Sinatra, who had shown up, from attending Marilyn Monroe’s funeral. Frank left quick (didn’t want to make a scene on a sad day, of course.)

Me: “But yeah, Marilyn would have liked if you two beat the shit out of each other.”

Including knives and guns.

I sense she liked the messy drama of Italian-American men.
