If my memory serves me right, they had someone like this around the time of Uti, back in 2023.

They also had Joel Rubin in some similar capacity, back in the day as well...

From what I can understand, it looks like they’re trying to expand Smosh’s reach! I think the goal is to have someone to oversee their marketing and make sure the audience is catered to. They’ve most likely had similar roles before, but I assume this time it’s different due to it being a bigger role. I’m not the best at business related stuff, but I hope what I’m saying makes a tiny bit of sense 😅. Either way, I’m intrigued to see what happens. I’m trusting that this’ll be a good decision. In the article, I think I read something about Cory understanding what Smosh is and I’m glad to hear that! Change can be good, but keeping what the channel’s are at heart is very important. I wouldn’t want Smosh to lose that spark we all know and love. But it looks like it won’t be an issue thankfully 🙏
