Joe: Really? What's going on?
Grin and Bear it // Joemony
[February 8th 2020 ; Saturday]
Joe hadn't necessarily been too concerned about Harmony this week, but he did wonder what had been going on with her. They hadn't talked at all since he had gone to see her show over the break, but they had both been pretty busy since. He was starting his first full semester of TAing at the university while since she was now a name on Broadway, she had the habit of staying busy quite a bit. Still, he couldn't help but wonder if there was something going on. He had known Harmony for awhile, almost a full decade in the next few years (that itself was a crazy thing to think about), so he liked to think he was able to tell when there was something going on with her.
So that was when he found himself sitting at a small coffee shop near Harmony's apartment, a plain coffee, three creams and three sugars in front of him as he waited for her to arrive. He had brought some stuff along with him to keep him busy while he waited, mainly some articles and books that he was skimming through for a paper in one of his masters' classes, as well as some books. He was also looking to begin some ground work for his dissertation. Ideally, his plan was to write on male and female roles in various religions throughout East Asia, as well as compared to those in America. It left him with enough of an expanded topic to make his applying for the Religion in the Americas PhD in the next few years a still fairly obvious choice, and a great way to blend the two topics.
So, it was while he was immersed in a book on feminism in the American culture and media when he finally heard foot steps approach.

Joe: Greetings my favorite Broadway star. When is the next time you'll have a chance to breath? We should get coffee or something soon. :)
In New York for a few days
I got in last night, Harmony was awesome enough to fly me out as a Christmas present. I really want to go to Time Square to see the ball drop for real!

Joe: Hey! So, I wanted to tell you a few days ago, but I talked to my advisor about doing an independent ministry. He loved the idea!
The Breakfast Meet & Greet || Joemony
TAGGING: Harmony Pearce & Joseph 'Loser' Hart
LOCATION: The Hart Home
TIME: Early hours of August 10th
GENERAL NOTES: After attempting to take another one off the bucket list, and failing miserably, Harmony wakes up in Joe's arms only to later on have to meet his family. It's fluffy and cute so enjoy loves.
When Joe texted her, he was still on the road but close by. He had texted her from a stop sign in case she needed to get some things ready before coming over, though she did have twenty minutes while he was driving over. As he pulled into her driveway, he noticed she was already there. Whoops. He waved and checked his phone. It was two am and he was sure her parents wouldn't approve of this but still, he was excited to hang out with her again and cross one thing off their bucket list.
Harmony grinned widely walking to the car. She was excited to see Joe Hart. He was one of the sweetest guys, she had met and they could literally talk about everything. It was odd to find a friend like him so fast. But fate was on her side recently and she wouldn't speak against it. Climbing into his car she turned to him with a smile. "Hey Loser." She grinned as she buckled her seat belt. "I got the videos, if you got the bed and TV." She said flashing the movies to her left. "I also bought snacks too. I don't know what you eat, but almost everyone eats popcorn, right?"
Joe smiled at her greeting. "'Sup, Loser." He waited until she was buckled up to start driving towards home. "I think I've got a twin but we'll fit." He took the CD case from his lap and handed it to her, "Oh, popcorn's good. I'm not a picky eater so it works out." He was thankful for his quick friendship with Harmony and that they were both comfortable with one another, though it could be a bit awkward at times. Nothing they hadn't gotten through so far. "If you need to stop by the store or somewhere before we get to mine, lemme know. Oh and my parents already went to sleep but be prepared for twenty questions in the morning." He wasn't sure what his parents would be like but hoped they wouldn't go too crazy meeting his newest friend.
A confused look came across Harmony's face. "A twin? Now I'm confused. Is there something you aren't telling me Hart?" she questioned jokingly. Taking the case she flipped through the envelopes looking at some of the older ones with their names worn off. Pulling one at random she popped it into the player, fast forwarding to number five. Hearing the beat start, she turned to him and grinned. "Good cause if you didn't like popcorn, you can't have any of my cookies." she answered," I'm fairly certain we won't need anything else. I mean unless you need anything." Hearing about his parents, she lowered the volume of the music. It could wait. "Twenty questions tomorrow? I can do that." Harmony hoped his parents would like her. They had raised a phenomenal son and daughter from what she had heard so far. She was sure they would be great. But that still didn't rid the butterflies from her stomach. On the inside she was relieved that she wouldn't have to meet them tonight. "So, can I cook breakfast tomorrow?"
Joe risked a glance at Harmony and realized she was joking. "You're quite the actress. If think if Tiffany was actually my twin, we'd get along a lot better than we do. Not that we don't get along but ... well, to be honest, she's kind of a flirt and it's hard to keep an eye on her when shes in New York, ya know?" He smiled at her music choice and pushed the dreads away from his face. "Yeah? You bake? Nah, I don't need anything." Going past Breadstix, he continued towards home. "Mhm. It'll probably be about where you go to school, what you wanna do in life, where your parents work, probably some stuff about church too. Things that parents feel like they need to know," he shrugged. "Oh, sure. You sure we'll be up in time for breakfast?" He wasn't too sure if he would fall asleep right away or not but he doubted it and worried that she would wake up before him and feel awkward. "If you wake up before me, wake me up too and we can make breakfast together?"
Harmony chewed her bottom lip, desperate to keep the giggles that wanted to escape down her throat. But at his glance she lost her calm composure and giggled away. "I'm taking that as a compliment. I know I'm good. At the change in subject, she tucked her hands in her pocket. Her fingers felt the familiar itch to touch his hands. "Well, I'll have to have her teach me a few moves when I meet her. I mean I can flirt pretty well, but I'm looking to take it to the next level." As he pushed the dreads from his face, Harmony took in his profile. Clear skin, and pretty cheekbones made him look like a piece of art almost. "I do bake actually, amongst other things. It's just those questions? I can easily do that. I"ll charm the pants off of them." She grinned. "I know I will be up. I'll probably fall asleep before the first movie is over. And my body is like an alarm clock, I wake up everyday by at least eight. " Deal. I'll wake you up. You too, if you wake up first alright?"
Joe grinned as she giggled. "As you should, it was meant to be a compliment. Next level, huh? You can always use me for practice." He made a left, getting closer to his home. "Well then, feel free to use the kitchen for anything. Ma won't mind. I'm sure they'll like you." He almost added 'like I do,' whoops. "That's fine. No telling when I'll fall asleep. Doubt I'll wake up first though." His phone started going off, a song by The Drums playing. "Oh uh," he answered, putting it on speaker in his lap, "Hello?"
"Joey," the female voice squealed, "I wanted to tell you about the party tonight. This guy I met named Ryan--"
"Sorry to cut you off, Tiff. I'm with Harmony right now." He gave Harmony a worried look and whispered, "Sorry." "Oh, Harmony! Tell her I said hey, won't you?" "You're on speaker." "Harmony, I've heard so much about you! Keep your Joseph outta trouble, okay?" Joe groaned, hating that his sister always had to embarrass him.
/me shook her head at Joe's antics. "Silly boy. I'll take you up on that." Realizing how she sounded she quickly recovered with a "For practicing purposes of course." Pushing the hair behind her ear, she looked out the window for moment taking in the streets going by in a flash. Turning back to him "Perfect. Are you allergic to anything? I don't want to kill you on accident." Harmony still couldn't help the butterflies that flew around her rib cage. It was going to be awkward meeting his parents after spending the night with Joe. She didn't want them to think that she was using their son for other activities. Shaking the thoughts from her head, she turned back to the conversation. "Let's just agree that whoever wakes up first, gets the other person up." Hearing his phone conversation the laughter came again, until she heard the girl say that she'd heard alot about her. "She's heard a lot about me?
Joe raised an eyebrow at her comment and coughed awkwardly. "Oh, 'course." At a stop light, he glanced over at her. She looked angelic in the moonlight and he couldn't stop the small smile spreading onto his face. It wasn't until the car behind him honked that he realized he was staring and he was forced to look away and drive again. "No allergies. If you wanna get on my parents good side, Ma likes fruit and Dad likes... pretty much anything actually." He nodded, agreeing with her and made a left. Tiffany was totally embarrassing him and he wanted to end the call before she could do any more damage. "Oh hush. Gotta go, Tiff. Bye!"
"Use protection!" Her voice came through before he could hang up. He groaned, hanging up the phone and shoving it into the cup holder. "Sorry 'bout that."
Harmony chuckled as he ended the phone call all flustered. He cheeks tinged red, his averting eyes. It was adorable to her. "It's alright. I like her. She's sounds awesome though." she chuckled as she lightly nudged him with her elbow."You guys must be really close huh?" she asked quietly. At the sound of the car horn, Harmony furrowed her eyebrows and turned back to Joe. "I swear people are so impatient these days. I mean the light just turned green. Right Joe?"
Joe flashed her a smile when she nudged him. "Yeah, we don't keep secrets from each other. Though I'll say she's more detailed about things than I am. Sometimes about things I'd rather not know." He was glad that she didn't realize he had been staring at her. "Oh, right. So, do you have any siblings? A big brother that might threaten me, perhaps?" He hoped not. They were getting closer to his home now but he kept going the speed limit, in no rush to get there even if it meant more time with Harmony and Harry Potter.
"I like that you guys do that. Honesty is the best policy you know." Noting his smile, Harmony grinned. "I'm seeing that. But that's really cool. At least she's open with you." At his question Harmony pondered what to day. How in the world would she explain her brother? "Well now that you mention it... his name is Stephen. We're not that close but he'd probably try to threaten you. He just likes to be an rude and mean sometimes. He's twenty-six and lives in New Orleans, so we don't have a ton in common. He's usually really busy so we don't get to talk much either." Pausing, she wondered if she should mention the part of him being the family black sheep. Probably not. "Hey not to rush but are we almost there?"
"Too much honesty though can be a bad thing," He seriously didn't need to know about his sisters sex life, that was for sure. "He doesn't have a gun, does he?" He joked, speeding up at her question. "Yeah, just down the road actually." Before they knew it, he was pulling into the driveway of a long one-story house with a red door. Sliding out of the car, he grabbed his guitar from the backseat and went over to her side to open the door. "Thirsty? I think we have soda and tea. Coffee if you prefer."
/me nodded her head. "I suppose you have point there." Turning swiftly, Harmony hit Joe in the arm. "My brother may be mean and rude but he wouldn't kill you!" Turning back to front, she replied "At least not without consulting me anyway. Sorry for hitting you though." As they pulled up to his home, Harmony couldn't help but to smile. The rancher looked so cozy and homey. It was perfect for the small family. The sound of the door on her right side shook her from her admiration. "Thank you kind sir." She said with a smile and nod of her head as she slid out of the car. "A cup of tea sounds perfect right now actually."
Joe put his guitar strap around himself so it could hang on his back. "Officially our 'pretend to be Brits' night.'" After she slid out, he collected the bit of trash that had accumulated in his car that week, closed the door, then started for the front door. "I'll show you to my room. You can get the movie going while I get the tea?" He unlocked the door and walked into the spacious living room that was attached to the kitchen. His parents room was to the right and through the kitchen to the left, a hallway, his own room, and the bathroom. Luckily, his room and his parents room were on opposite ends of the house. "Oh uh, take your shoes off here." His mom liked to keep all the shoes on the shoe rack beside the front door and Joe almost forgot since he had been driving with his shoes off.
Harmony shook her head "Pretend to be Brits? Sure? Why not." she shrugged. Harmony let Joe lead her into the house. "That's fine with me. It just means I can claim my spot on the bed first." she said with a smirk. Looking around a bit, she took in the home. "You guys have a beautiful home by the way." Placing her shoes on the small rack by the door, she trailed off to the left to look for his room. Realizing she should just ask, she made her way back to the kitchen. "Uh, Joe where is your room? I don't want to walk into your parents's room on accident." She asked with a small giggle. "Oh, and if you guys by chance have peppermint tea, you'll be my favorite person in the world." she grinned.
Joe smiled at her compliment. "Be sure to tell my mom that. She'll love you." He placed his guitar near the couch and was about to go and start the tea when Harmony reminded him that he hadn't shown her his room. "Oh, right. This way." Walking past her towards the hall, he went to the door at the end and opened it, revealing a small room. Books were scattered about, another guitar in the corner, and the bed and TV took up most of the room. "Back in a bit." Then he was off to try and find the peppermint tea, knowing that he had bought some about a week or so ago.
Harmony let him lead her to his room. Upon walking in she had to chuckle. She didn't know him that well but had the odd feeling that his room was a reflection of him. The books everywhere, the other guitar, and the tv in the corner. Watching him leave, she walked up to the tv and set up the movie. After finishing she placed her bag near the end of the bed and laid across it as she waited for him to come back. Hearing his footsteps, coming down the hall she flipped to her stomach and gave him a small wave. "About time Hart. I was getting lonely bud."
After making the tea, Joe made his way back to his room with two Union Jack mugs in hand. His dog Bandit was obviously in his parents room or he would have cuddled up to Harmony right away. "Took a bit to find the peppermint tea but apparently, I'm your favorite person in the world." With a smirk, he sat next to her and held one of the mugs out. "Ready?"
Sitting up, Harmony grabbed the mug from his hands. "Don't let it go to your head sir. It's just for today." She smirked back. Grabbing the remote, she turned to him "I think the better question would be are you ready? Harry Potter can get pretty intense, pretty quickly." She said as she bumped her shoulder into his. Remembering that her cookies were still in her bag, she pointed her figure in its general direction. "If you still want the cookies there in my bag." Blowing on her tea, she took a tentative sip to see how hot it was. Sipping again, she gave a sigh of contentment. "Thanks again for the tea Joe. It's perfect."
Joe got the cookies out of her bag and placed them between them on the bed, laying back to sip his tea. "I couldn't be more ready." He dunked one of the cookies into the tea and ate it, "Oh man, you gotta try 'em together."
Harmony shook her head as she watched him dunk another cookie into his tea. "Not this time. I'm just going to drink my tea. I'm not hungry right now." Sitting up and crossing her legs underneath her, she situated her mug in her lap carefully before she went to fix the ponytail her hair was in. Giving a pull she dropped her hands back to her lap to pick up her mug taking another sip. Pressing play she began their marathon.
Joe finished his tea by the time Harry had made it to Hogwarts and defeated the troll. He reached down for a cookie and glanced over at Harmony at the same time. She was already asleep. He finished his cookie, watching the movie a few more minutes before putting the cookies and their tea mugs on the table beside the bed then pulled the blankets from the bottom of the bed over the both of them, settling down to go to sleep. He fell asleep almost instantly, thinking that drinking tea instead of coffee wasn't so bad.
Harmony felt dazed. Opening her eyes she took a moment to gather her bearings. She definitely wasn't in her room. And by the feel of things she wasn't alone either. Then it hit her, she was at Joe's. She must've fallen asleep early, because the tv was off and there was a blanket around her. If she was correct there was an arm thrown over her torso that kept her pressed to the body behind her. Rolling over as gently as she could , she was greeted by a sight that made her giggle softly. Joe was soundly sleeping, a light snore coming from his mouth. His dreads were going in every direction she could see. Whispering softly, "Joe. Joe? Wake up! It's time to wake up. " She said looking around the room. Lightly shaking his shoulder, she called his name again. " Joe, wake up."
Joe groaned, swatting her hand away and turning to face away from her. The sunlight hit his eyes and he pulled the blankets over his face, curling in on himself to try and get comfortable. There were noises coming from other parts of the house, a sign that his parents were up.
Harmony frowned as she watched him, dreads and all, roll away. She felt a little cold now not connected to him. "Rude." She whispered, before shaking him lightly again. "Come on Joe. Wake up!" She said as she shook his shoulder a bit harder this time. Noticing him burrow underneath his blanket, she narrowed her eyes at him. "Rude you are." Sliding out of the bed, she raised her arms above her head to stretch as she looked around her noticing the mugs and cookie container. Creeping quietly , she reached over and picked up the items off the table before making a quick exit out into the hallway. Walking as lightly as she could, she made her way to the kitchen.
Joe fell back to sleep quickly, unaware that she had left the room and forgetting that she had tried to wake him up. His parents were in different parts of the house when Harmony walked in. Grace was in the kitchen, her usual morning fruit smoothie in hand, and Nathan was still getting dressed in the bedroom. Grace was surprised when a young girl walked in. "Oh... who are you?" she asked curiously. Joe had never had a girl sleep over before that wasn't family. She crossed the kitchen over to her, setting her drink down on a nearby table, to take the mugs and cookies from Harmony.
Harmony felt herself stop short upon walking into the kitchen. His mother was there. His mother was there. Closing her mouth quickly, she looked down and noticed the dishes were gone. "Um, good morning Mrs. Hart. I'm Harmony Pearce. A friend of your son's." Walking further into the kitchen, she stuck her hand out in front of the woman. "It's a pleasure to meet you." Looking around the kitchen she noticed the smoothie in the woman's hand. "I was planning on cooking breakfast is that all right?"
Grace stared at her for a moment before smiling. "Oh, just Grace is fine. Harmony? It's nice to meet you." She wondered why her son hadn't mentioned Harmony before and she was sure that he hadn't mentioned having her over for the night. She started for her bedroom then turned around halfway there, remembering the question. "That's alright." Entering the bedroom, she went over to her husband who was putting on pants. "Nate, our Joey brought a lady friend home."
Joe's father raised a brow. "Did he?" He was smiling slightly and Grace smacked him on the arm. "Did you know about this?" "He might've mentioned it."
They talked for a few minutes more, Grace questioning her husband on why he didn't tell her about Joe's friend coming over. He shrugged off her questions. "He's going into adulthood. We should treat him like an adult. Isn't it nice that he's made a friend before school starts?" With that, he left the room, Grace following behind him to the kitchen to greet Harmony. "Nice to meet you, Harmony. I'm glad Joe has made a friend."
Harmony swallowed thickly as she watched Grace exit the kitchen. Oh God. She could only imagine what the woman was thinking. A girl about her son's age, coming from the direction of his room. She was half dressed in her pajama short and a tank top and her hair was all over the place. Harmony thanked her lucky stars that the woman didn't give her a hug because she would've caught the sent of her son all over her. Walking to the fridge Harmony went about pulling out the items she needed. Giving her shirt a quick tug, she went in search of the cookware she would need. Just as she was about to turn the burners on, a deep voice made her turn around. Spinning around quickly, she flashed a quick smile. "It's nice to meet you Mr. Hart." Blushing she added, "I hope you don't mind I making breakfast."
Nathan looked surprised and shot a glance at his wife who looked more than a bit confused. "Of course, go right ahead," he answered with a smile before passing her to make his morning coffee before work. Grace went off to finish getting ready. "So," he began, not wanting to be this sort of parent but he knew that he had to or else Grace would, "do you go to church? I'm sure Joe will invite you sometime if he hasn't already. It was important to his wife and himself that their only son was hanging out with the right crowd.
Harmony blushed under Mr. Hart's gaze as she continued moving about the kitchen, cooking food. As she beat the eggs, she answered. "Well every week I go to mass with my family. And when Joe invites me, I would love to come." Sliding the eggs into the hot pan she asked, "Can I make you anything Mr. Hart?"
Nathan was glad to hear that Harmony went to mass with her family and was possibly raised Catholic. "Oh, no thanks. Coffee's just fine for me. Though if you'd like some, I'd be happy to pour you a cup." Grace appeared a moment later, ready for work and kissed her husband on the cheek before smiling at Harmony and pulling her in for a hug. She was a hugger and figured if this friend would be hanging around often, she should accept her. "Hope to see you around, sweetie." With that, she was gone and Nathan was pouring two cups of coffee. "Careful. She might have empty nest syndrome since our daughter Tiffany moved out. She might want to adopt you." Joking of course, then he added, "Want me to wake Joe up?" It was obvious he wasn't awake yet.
Harmony nodded her head. "Yes, do you mind pouring me a cup?" Watching Grace come back into the kitchen, Harmony gave a small smile. Before she realized it, his mother had pulled her into a hug. Pulling out of the hug, she gave a gentle smile "I hope so too. Have a great day Mrs. Hart!" Smiling as she slid some toast into the toaster, she shook her head. "Could you please wake him up? I don't want breakfast to get cold. Speaking of, I know you said you didn't want any but I made you a piece of toast anyway."
Nathan slid the cup towards her, thanked her for the toast, and went to try and wake up his son. He found Joe sleeping on the opposite side of the bed that he usually slept on, arms thrown around a pillow. "Hey, why are you still asleep?" He shook him and Joe opened his eyes to glare at him. "Be glad Grace didn't scare your girlfriend off." That got Joe to his feet quickly. "Is she still here? Mom I mean."
Nathan gave his son a bored look. "Went to work. Harmony seems nice by the way." Joe followed him out of the room sleepily, muttering something about how Harmony wasn't his girlfriend. His dad ignored him, grabbed toast and finished off his coffee. "Nice seeing you. Thanks for the toast." He left quickly, not one for hugs and trusted them not to get up to anything inappropriate though he didn't think she seemed the type anyway.
Joe yawned, "Mornin'." He went to get a cup of coffee before he remembered he wasn't allowed. "Want some tea, Harm?"
Harmony finished cooking the breakfast and set the plates on the table quietly humming a tune to herself. Grabbing the mug of coffee left for her, she danced around the kitchen as she prepare the cup with a pinch of cream and sugar. In her own little world, she span around the kitchen with a smile before sitting down and waiting for her friend. "No problem. Have a nice day Mr. Hart." Watching Joe yawn, she smiled, shaking her head. "You sleep like a rock, you know that?" Raising her mug of coffee up, she shook her head. "No,thanks I've got coffee. Now sit down, I made breakfast." She grinned.
Joe went about making tea for himself before sitting down across from her. "Will you judge me if I fall asleep at the table?" It was way too early to be up and he wondered how he would survive public school. He gave her a sleepy smile and dug in, mumbling his thanks in between a bite. "Hope I wasn't a blanket hog." He could remember when Tiffany would complain when he hogged most of her bed and the blankets, back when he was much younger and had nightmares. "Did Ma and Dad question you too much?" He paused, a forkful of food halfway to his mouth, "Aw crap, you could've woke me up to make sure it wasn't too intense."
Harmony crossed her legs under the table as she took a bite of her toast. "Eat, before you fall asleep. I worked hard on this while you were busy sleeping.", she mock chastised. Hearing his thanks, she nodded her head and continued to eat. "No, you weren't." Harmony chuckled. Taking a quiet sip of her coffee, she sat back in the chair looking at the wall behind Joe. "I didn't realize you were a snuggler though." She muttered before bringing the mug back to her lips. "No, they were fine. I told you I'm a pro at questions." At his next statement, Harmony chuckled to herself. "I promise it was fine! I mean of course I'm nervous, but I think I did alright."
Joe ate quickly, hoping to crawl back to bed as soon as he could. Maybe he could talk Harmony into sleeping in as well. "Good. Did you sleep well?" He had for the first time in months but he still felt tired as was usually the case. "Oh... is that good or bad?" Joe hoped that she hadn't awoke in the middle of the night because of him and finished off the breakfast she had prepared. "I think my parents like you anyway. Dad seemed alright and Ma didn't barge into my room freaking out or anything. I'm thinking that's a good sign."
Harmony stifled yawn. She was still a bit sleepy and if she was being honest with her climbing back into the bed sounded heavenly. Maybe she'd suggest it. "I slept pretty well." Feeling another yawn escape, she suggested "And apparently, I'm still tired. I don't know if you wanted to do anything soon, but would it be too much of a hassle if I went back to sleep?" Cleaning up the empty plates and depositing them in his sink, she turned around. She hadn't actually expected him to hear her. "Well um, it was good." Giving an small smile she replied. "Definitely a good thing." Finishing rinsing her dishes, she felt at ease hearing his parents liked her. She wasn't going to mention her parents unless necessary.
Joe watched in awe as she took their plates to the sink. It was like she lived there and she was the host instead of him. It was nice that she felt comfortable in his house to do such a thing. "Yeah. I'm gonna go back to sleep too actually." He stood, motioning towards his room. "I'll set my alarm for lunch and we can go out somewhere?"
Harmony grinned widely as she leaned against the kitchen counter. Walking towards him, she gave another grin before gently bumping into him. "I knew there was a reason we were friends." She said as she poked his side teasingly. "Great minds think a like you know." Following him into his room, she sat on the edge of the bed fixing her hair. "That sounds divine. Breadstix for lunch? Or do you want to go somewhere else?"
Joe grinned tiredly at her, flopping down onto the bed as she sat down. "Breadstix sounds good to me." After a moment, he rolled and took some of the blankets with him, piling them on top of himself before turning to look at Harmony. "Thanks again for breakfast." He held his arms out to her, hoping she would want to cuddle.
Harmony giggled lightly as he flopped down next to her. "Great minds again." Laying back, she gave one last stretch before turning to look at him. His tired face made her smile. "No problem. Thanks for eating it." Noticing his arms out, Harmony raised an eyebrow in question.
Joe kept his arms out. "You said I'm a cuddler... or was it snuggler?" He gave a small frown, unable to remember. "Might as well if I'm gonna do it anyway."
Harmony smiled at Joe. Shaking her head at him, she hoped he wouldn't notice her blush. "Both terms are correct." She said as she scooted closer to Joe. Finally right up against him, she gave a small sigh. Giving another yawn she cuddled closer to him. "See you later Joe."
Joe already had his eyes closed when he felt her scoot in and he put an arm around her. "Mhm, see ya," he mumbled before falling asleep.

Joe: Well. I didn't delete it.
God Willing || Self-Para
July 4th 2015
Joe was surprised when he found the phone. It was one of those basic, pay as you go phones that were always so easy to lose, and had been the phone Joe had used during his short time at McKinley. Much like the Japanese version of Pokemon Gold that he had found back in his dorm at Hope, it had appeared underneath a pile of miscellaneous things he had yet to sort through at the house in Jersey. He fumbled around a bit and turned it on. No power.
He went upstairs and saw Phil. "Hey, do you have any extra cell phone chargers lying around?" he asked the older man. Phil shrugged.
"If I do, they'll be in the garage. I have a habit of collecting stuff like that, blame it on working with teenagers. Someone is always needing something." he said with a chuckle. Joe nodded and headed out to the garage and found a box labeled 'cell phone chargers.' He fumbled some more and after a few tries, he eventually found one that fit the phone. He headed back into the house and nodded his appreciation at Phil.
"Thanks, I found one." he told him as he headed back downstairs to charge the phone. After waiting around for a bit, the phone eventually obtained enough of a charge to turn on. As soon as the phone turned on, it began to vibrate. He looked at the screen. Three missed calls, one voice mail, and eleven texts. As soon as he paged through the texts it dawned on him. This was from prom night, all those years ago. Harmony texting him frantically, wondering where he was, while he had been on a plane to Georgia, no chance to really tell her anything.
"Hey, Joe... are you coming?"
"...is everything okay? Could you text me back? I'm kinda worried."
"Joe, where are you?"
"You're... not coming, are you?"
"Joe?"
"Joe!"
"You're not even going to tell me you're not coming, are you?"
"You know what? Whatever."
"I'm leaving."
"Don't talk to me anymore. Or look at me or think about me or whatever. And delete my number."
"This was a waste of time."
Despite the fact that he was older and despite the fact that he knew better how to treat someone, Joe still felt like he had been slapped with every text he read. It actually made him doubt more. He wasn't the guy Tina wanted, he wasn't even the guy he thought he wanted. God was failing him. God wasn't going to let his parents continue their ministry in Japan until their deaths like they wanted. He finally took the plunge and listened to the voicemail. As the message began, he heard loud music in the background. "Hey, Joe... it's Harmony. Look, I've been waiting here for... a really long time. Are you coming? Or... should I just leave? When you get this, can you call me back? I'm worried that something happened and I'm kinda freaking out... so... yes. Just... call me back, okay? Bye." He deleted the message and then checked the account balance. He still had about five hundred messages left on the number. Not really sure why, he decided to text the number he was supposed to have deleted.
