Oh hey, look what I dragged out again. And by dragged out I mean finally finished tweaking the line art to print it onto watercolor paper so I can paint it since my print beast is up and running. And that only took several hours because said print beast decided to be difficult and I’m also a dumdum who forgot what settings I needed to use. FUN. I’m not sure what I’ll do with the digital versions, they’re pretty much done. I did that mainly for practice and to figure out how to pull this crazy color scheme off. The watercolor versions will be the real deal. And they’ll be mine all mine! You no can have. But I might finally sell the original line art once I finish painting this insanity. Maybe. Anyway. Pencil shading to start, color to follow!

Joe the Condor action trash! Yepp, this one got totally out of hand. I’m already nitpicking flaws too, which means I must have hit some growth. That’s a good sign! Giving the Condor's face a little consistency since he was apparently animated as 8 different people. 😆 This is the fourth time I've completely restarted my Joe head sketches reference sheet. My aim is to keep the same face, but still pull heavily from the original animation in both expressions and stylization. That...is a lot frickn harder than it sounds. I'm still pretty happy with those crossed arms though. God they were annoying to draw. Also, no action trash sketches for a bit. Hopefully I'll be back on track this week. Of course I'm moving in 15 days. So that's gonna turn everything upside down. Again. It's been a crap week. Both parental units are still recovering from mystery illnesses, and that plus regular project stress, plus running late on my own project schedule stress, plus the fact that I am MOVING to Wisconsin next month (yes. More on that later...) means I'm sort of kind of losing my goddamn mind. Solution? Draw something pretty. Not really a solution but it does help. I drew a pretty ninja bird for my art therapy. Yelling at Joe for being an uncooperative asshole is somehow not stressful. And I discovered why I have such a bitch of a time drawing him. He is the LEAST consistently drawn of all 5 ninja birds in that damn animation. The animators couldn't agree on how long his hair should be, what style it should be, not to mention what color, how angled his eyes should be, how wide his jaw should be, the list goes on...That boy is a mess. So fine. This is what he looks like now.
