How did Joe and Eliana meet? 👀

First time he met Eliana he was running late, really late, to court. It wasn’t that he was testifying. Joe was there for the victim. He’d promised that he would be there for her while she testified. And then he has overslept and was sure he wouldn’t make it.

Running in he almost didn’t see her, almost knocking her over on the way.

“Hey! Watch where you’re going!” She shouted as he ran past, shouting an apology in return.

Having barely made it he sat down, giving his full attention to the court in session.

The second time was a few days later, when he was going to see Sonny about getting a warrant for a case he was working.

“You know, almost knocking someone over isn’t nice.”

He looked over and saw her, standing over a desk in the office opposite Sonny’s.

“I’m sorry?”

“The other day you nearly ran me down in the courthouse—“

He blushes, “I am so sorry. I was running late—made a promise to the woman testifying—“

She found him so adorable as he rambled. And from the sound of it, she adored how he cared for the people who came to him for help.

“Let me buy you a coffee, as an apology.”

“I would like that, here’s my number, call when you’ve got time.”

So when Joe plucks up the courage to message or call Eliana for a coffee, please tell me he gets there a whole 5 minutes earlier then the time he told her so he can impress Eliana that he's not always running late 😊

I am loving the meet cute they had going on.

He's actually 10 to 15 minutes early to the coffee shop. Mainly cause he doesn't want to be late, but also because he's so nervous. He really wants to impress her.

He leaves earlier than needed and hits absolutely no traffic on the way which is shocking to him.

When he gets there he'll wait somewhere where she can see him when walking in. His legs bounced from nerves the whole time, and a bouquet of flowers on the table in front of him.

She shows up at their agreed time, spotting him immediately. "Hey--am I late?" She asks, worried that she got the times mixed up.

"No, I just--I got here early--you look lovely."

Eliana smiles softly at that, "You look good too, Jose."

He swears his heart skips a beat, a blush creeping up on his face. Taking one of her hands in his, he lifts it to place a kiss on the top of it.

It was her time to blush then, finding him just too adorable.

"I got you flowers, hope you like them." He let go of her hand to turn and pick them up, handing them to her as he scratched the back of his neck, nervously trying to read her expression.

"Oh, Joe, they're so lovely, thank you." She teared up a little at the sweetness of him, so tempted to lean on and kiss him, but not wanting to in case she’s reading too much into things.

They both go and order their drink and food. And he insists on paying “I am after all paying you back for almost running you down”, he says with a blush on his face.

“Can’t argue that, detective.” She has a little mischievous gleam in her voice at that and he swears he’s in love.

The date drags on for ages. Not that either want to say goodbye. So he asks her to extend the coffee to dinner. He’s barely able to get the words out before she excitedly exclaims “yes! I’d love that!” A wide smile on her face.
