Four maverick designers decide to turn the tide and go back to basics. Salon Fashion Designers: Dennis Lustico, Lulu Tan-Gan, Cesar Gaupo, and Joey Samson.
The Salon show, currently on its second leg, brings four of Philippines’ leading fashion designers, each of his own specialty, discipline, and acclaim. With Dennis Lustico’s ornate draping, Cesar Gaupo’s glamorously understated dresses, Joey Samson’s revolutionary take on contemporary tailoring, and Tan-Gan’s lush reimagining of knits and indigenous resort wear, Salon 2014 becomes the authoritative glimpse on the state of our nation’s dressing.

Debuting this April 28th at the well-appointed Fairmont Ballroom, Salon 2014 raises the curtains to a groundbreaking display of the country’s threads that captures nothing else but their designer’s own personal creative takes. With live musical accompaniment courtesy of modern Filipino independent vocalists to match the captivating runway spectacle, Salon 2014 aims to offer a multi-sensory experience that is bound to inspire. And backed by the country’s leading name in mobile telecommunications, Smart Communications, and the Metro’s foremost address in deluxe hospitality, Fairmont Hotel, Salon 2014 becomes the largest fashion event of the year, where art, culture, and pure fashion collide in a breathtaking showcase. Part of the ticket proceeds will benefit a single group hand-picked for the cause, by way of the Salon designer’s support for the Philippine Arts.

Salon 2014 is bound to be the grandest fashion exhibition in the country to date. With pure fashion to replace the fanfare, creativity to counter the mêlée, and craftsmanship to make up for the craze, Salon 2014 brings the reverence back to fashion’s barest essentials, where skill, talent, and imagination take center stage.

The prim and proper pout. Kath B. poses like a pro (and goofs off every now and then) for our August cover story.
She's got a sweet disposition. Kathryn Bernardo graces our August cover wearing local designer Joey Samson's 10th anniversary collection. This is our fresh take on fashion.
