First published in 1958, The League Of Gentlemen was the most successful of John Boland's novels. This 1960 edition was a Pan reprint ahead of the release of Rank's film adaptation, a considerable success. Boland would write two sequels to the novel: The Gentlemen Reform (1961) and The Gentlemen At Large (1962).
