it's the world's least aptly named book series!! john dies at the end, this book is full of spiders (no seriously dude don't touch it), what the hell did i just read, and if this book exists you're in the wrong universe. and book 5 next year reportedly?
i recently read through all of them at the rate of about 1 book / 1.5 days. they're fun! best summary i can offer is "watch these codependent losers stumble their way through stopping the end of the world. also there's themes. and dick jokes. and horrid creatures beyond comprehension. and moments that make me stop and put the book down and stare at the ceiling for a few minutes. and a magic dog". book 1 starts with a ship of theseus retelling and proceeds into an account of the protags fighting a meatman, if that helps
