John stands outside Chell’s cell. He stands tall with a small handful of guards. it may be the lighting of the hall, but it seems his like his skin seems more... dead then before.

John’s eyes widen, realization and memories hitting him at once. He falls to his knees, clutching his head, the sudden flood of information almost too much for him. 

he remembers his own timeline. the death of his brother and wife.

he remembers his friendship with adam and chell.

he remembers the combine taking him, turning him into this... thing.

he remembers everything.

and he screams.

i think my worst fear is this is all fake. like..

I never betrayed civil protection. the combine were never defeated. it’s all the same, and I’m just in some hallucination of them trying to mess with me and break me because I’m related to gordon,

John marches on, doing his usual patrol around the citadel. He would continue doing this until he receives orders to do something else, or he finds something abnormal during said patrol.
