'Swapped' isn't bad cuz of its animation style.

John Lasseter is an abuser who was fired from PIXAR during the Me Too movement due to sexual abuse allegations alongside other known offenders in the animation industry like Chris Savino and John K. He's one of the ONLY people actually fired for this behavior in animation, and he's easily the most powerful fired for his actions.

Stop worrying about a goddamn art style, this movie should not be supported because John Lasseter is a predator. We don't have to popularize a movie headlining a predator- especially when multiple female animators have said they would not want to be around him.

And we certainly should not forget or distract from his actions against women... and how he is still able to hurt people, particularly now in his new position at Skydance under Paramount's David Ellison.

You don't have to watch a movie by an abuser. But if you do... maybe you should worry more about John Lasseter's horrible actions than the look of a CGI film he has his name on.

Frozen 3? Nah, Frozen (2013)

You know what? I think I’ve actually lost hope for Frozen 3. Like yeah, there are early “synopsis” floating around saying Anna’s gonna get married and at first I wanted to be excited, but deep down I just don’t trust it.

Because if Frozen 2 taught me anything, it’s that whatever you think you’re gonna get in the beginning is absolutely NOT what you end up with in the end.

I swear, Frozen 2 traumatized my ass so much. Don’t get me wrong, it’s successful, it’s pretty, it’s got bangers, blah blah blah. But the way Disney handled it? A mess. That whole PR campaign was literally built to distract us.

They worked overtime making the cast say cute little soundbites, hyping up certain angles of the story, getting us to focus on “oh wow the sisters’ bond” and “Elsa’s journey” while completely dodging how the movie actually went down.

And ngl? They reduced Elsa, Anna, and Kristoff into shits in Frozen 2.

Especially my goat, Kristoff. They did him dirty. I couldn’t even rewatch Frozen 2 without cringing at his whole arc. Don’t get me wrong, “Lost in the Woods” is a good song but don’t expect me to watch that scene more than twice.

They turned him into a one-joke, awkward proposal machine and left him out of literally everything important.

And Anna… girl. She literally destroyed the dam, causing a giant-ass tidal wave heading straight for Arendelle. If that happened in real life? A whole-ass revolution would’ve started.

People would riot so hard against their “queen in training,” even if Elsa saved the kingdom at the last second.

But nope, in the movie it’s just “yay Anna you’re so brave,” like citizens wouldn’t be pissed their homes almost got wiped off the map. It’s hilarious in the worst way.

What really makes me roll my eyes is how Disney PR tried to patch things up.

Funny how they constantly had Kristen Bell talk more about Kristoff whenever she was asked about Elsa or the sisters.

Then Idina would repeat the same thing in her interviews, like clockwork. Like… yeah, Disney PR, I saw you.

These poor actors were clearly fed lines, forced to say shit that wasn’t even from their own heads, all because Disney wanted to make Kristoff seem relevant after completely fucking up his character in the actual movie.

And guess what? Not working for everyone. Not convincing anyone. Don’t be surprised if some still prefer Hans over him, because at least Hans was written with an actual arc.

Kristoff has an arc in the first movie, second movie he's a freaking loser.

And the most ironic part? Some of the earlier drafts of Frozen 2 were actually way better. Like, Kristoff originally had an arc where he had already proposed to Anna at the beginning of the movie.

His subplot wasn’t just being the awkward boyfriend it was him trying to find his place in royal life. Suddenly “Lost in the Woods” would’ve made MORE sense.

And there was even a draft called “Kristoff’s Lies,” where he openly admitted he didn’t like life in Arendelle at all. That it wasn’t for him. That he sacrificed his own happiness just to stay around Anna because he loves her. That’s tragic. That has layers. That’s character writing.

And Anna? She was disappointed. She told him maybe they shouldn’t get married. Imagine the conflict. Imagine the emotional weight.

That’s the stuff I wanted. That’s the stuff that would’ve made them real. But nah, Disney said “lmao let’s make him a punchline instead.”

That’s why when I hear “Anna’s gonna get married in Frozen 3,” my brain immediately goes: okay, cool, but watch them shove that wedding into the final scene like some afterthought.

“Oh hey, here’s a quick marriage montage during the credits, aren’t you satisfied now?”

No. I am not. Because I’ve been burned before.

Plus, let’s not forget: we still have two whole years before Frozen 3 drops. Which means Disney (Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck) still has plenty of time to fuck up the story/characters completely… and then cover it up with banger musical scores.

Josh Gad just recently said he’s only seen previews of the story, no actual recordings, no songs yet. Which means those “leaks” floating around are probably just early draft ideas or prototypes.

Translation: absolutely nothing is locked in and there’s still plenty of room for disappointment so brace yourself, honey.

I want to believe they’ll do right by Anna, by Elsa, by Kristoff, by literally everyone. But nope. Not after Frozen 2. That movie was a trauma response in cinematic form for me.

So rewatching Frozen (2013) is a healing medicine for me.

Jen lee doesn’t let anyone touch her “characters.” like she’s got this chokehold on them, as if only she knows what’s best.

Bitch...bring john back.

because say what you want about him, but john lasseter understood Elsa better than anyone else in that damn studio.

like girl... collaboration is how disney even works. Mr. Walt didn’t just sit in his office and go “mine.” he let his animators, his writers, his directors throw shit at the wall until it made magic. jen lee out here acting like a fandom moderator instead of head of animation.

Walt disney ain’t freezing his ass in some secret cryo chamber- I mean dying just for you to control these characters like they’re your personal toys.

Frozen might be “your baby,” but it’s still part of disney’s language, disney’s legacy and you don’t get to hold it hostage just because you’re the one who made it big.

I’m lowkey afraid jen lee will kill Elsa in the future.

like, I heard frozen 2 at one point was supposed to end with Elsa dying. I don’t even know whose idea that was, but at least disney rethought it because duh “Bro, Elsa is our golden goose who lays golden eggs.”

This industry is not gonna kill the character that made them billions.

When I say “jen lee killing Elsa,” it’s not about literally killing her off. it’s about killing her personality.

Same with Anna, same with Kristoff, hell, even Olaf. I get it, they’re supposed to “mature,” but her definition of “mature” usually just ends up making them act completely out-of-character. like stripping away everything that made them lovable in the first place and calling it growth.

ps: me slapping John Lasseter for dipping out of Disney in 2018 and handing over his characters completely to Jen Lee. Like yeah, that woman’s great, she’s talented, I’ll give her that. But sometimes? I cannot handle her ass. Because say what you want about him, John understood Elsa in a way Jen clearly doesn’t. And that, my friends, was one of his biggest mistakes.
