Connemara marble casket presented to Princess Grace by her cousin John Kelly on behalf of the Kelly Clan. The casket was made by John Margetts of Thomas Dillons Claddagh Gold.
"The casing was cut from Irish silver, with the harp strings and buttons made from 24ct gold. All of them had to be hand soldered together to make up the frame of the casket. The side panels of the casket were cut from one block of Connemara marble, then were polished down so thin that they became translucent when held up to the light. The bog oak lining was also from Connemara." (Jonathan Margetts).
