Abita Springs Fun Time
Ok, I admit it. I slept until noon. I hard-time crashed. To be fair, there was a thunderstorm last night and I woke up with this going through my head:
"OH GOD HURRICANE I HAVE NO HURRICANE PLAN MUST GO SAVE CAT"
But it was just rain.
Anyway I guess Jeremy went and did some chore stuff and I rolled out of bed and ate baked beans, andouille sausage and polenta for breakfast (don't judge me)
First things first (AND MOST IMPORTANT)
THE ABITA MYSTERY HOUSE
No thanks!
More of the great dioramas!!
Dragons!!
Ahahahahaha
Words to live by!
I lost at pinball. But it was Aztec!
Sexy lady
A warm welcome, indeed.
New awesome selfie?
Hirsute woman. So much love here.
Creeeeeeeepy
My old friend Darrel
I want this in my new home.
My old friend bufford the bassigator.
Cool bottle wall.
Gator pony!
John was there, super nice as always. We told him all about how we visiting last year, loved the city and are moving to Metairie. He told us to stop by before we leave, and of course we will! If I have my car this time I'll show him my one stained glass window I brought with me maybe.
Of course, I got my print. Plus a t-shirt too! Can't wait to wear this, most people think I'm a lesbian anyway because my hair is short. My sister in law and I actually had an excellent evening in San Diego being mistaken as a lesbian couple as we went out for sushi, they thought I was the man (again, short hair).
Next stop: Abita Creek Flatwoods Preserves Pitcher Plant Trail
Said pitcher plants.
More swampiness.
The trail. Now, don't think we really did too much hiking, because it WAS 97 out.
Jeremy was sad there were no animals around. Again, 97 out. However, flowers can't hide from heat!
Another pretty flower. Afterwards, we were pretty hot so we wanted ice creams.
Jeremy has NEVER been to Baskin Robbins. EVER.
31 one flavors, baby!
Yuuuuumy! Note the lactaid. It worked, thankfully.
Mess of a truck we followed home...
A new (to me) product from Old New Orleans rum: carbonated ginger pulp with white rum. Very yummy!
Cocktail hour on the porch of the timeshare. Another fairly low-key day.
Tomorrow we're back to adventuring!
Gator Ranch
Old Hardhide
Donner-Peltier Distillery
(Possibly) Acadian Culture Center
and hopefully some more awesome food!
