Schmoozing in Exeter Kicked the week off with a visit to my legal chums at Michelmores in Exeter. Was invited to be a judge at their internal Bake Off competition: can confirm that it takes years of training to deal with iced buns and cake at 9.30 am! Moved on to the Magdelan Chapter for lunch with Ben Rhodes who the big cheese at the Devon Cornwall Business Council: great food & conversation. Continued with afternoon coffee with Robin Barker to discuss Cornish Tourism Awards: The Samphire Club will be sponsoring an award! Tuesday brought a fab lunch at the Tolcarne Inn with Susan who has created one of Cornwall's hidden gems at Chapel House in Penzance! Rest of week covered in next post

Schmoozing part 2: Left expo for working lunch at St Tudy Inn which always a joy! to Falmouth pm for a new monthly networking event at the Falmouth Hotel organised by Tiffany which was delightful, lovely talk from Amanda at Spiezia! Breakfast meeting at Espressini on Thursday followed by morning in TIC. Lunch at the Star & Garter in Falmouth which fab! To Steins Cookery School pm for an evening with Bernard & his team from the Innovation Centres: great fun & a wonderful way to build relationships. I can confirm that I cannot fillet a fish: carnage! Spent Friday at a tourism conference at Watergate Bay: great speakers and a good example of people coming together to share their knowledge etc. Lunch excellent too! Ended the week camping at a Wild Wine bash organised by Debbie Warner & Adam Banks. Magical evening of schmoozing over shared food with matched wines ending with hot chocolate by a roaring fire! Big thanks to Jess Ratty for use of the camper van(cornish camper van co) Long exhausting week but great fun & very productive!

Schmoozing part one: Week started with a dawn ride to Plymouth for the Ashfords breakfast at River Cottage Canteen in Royal William Yard. Normal suspects from corporate Plymouth present & fab to catch up with Kate Bourke, Deborah Edwards, & Mervyn! Back to Cornwall for opening bash at Figolux a new photography studio in Redruth. Nice event organised by my pals at Wild Card & good to schmooze with the snappers! Wednesday kicked off with a visit to Cornwall Expo which fantastic! Lovely to see the new Sleeper from GWR & great schmoozing in general! To be continued in part 2!

Schmoozing in Plymouth Week started with a trip to Plymouth for a meeting of the International Trade Club at the New Continental Hotel. Good speakers, nice mix of people, and fab buffet: fun evening! Tuesday was the monthly Pickwick lunch in Truro: good turn out & yummy food! Attended a meeting of the Cornwall Business Partnership on Wednesday which always stimulating & always good to catch up with Thelma! Retired to The Greenbank for much needed r & r! Thursday kicked off with a power breakfast at the hotel before Jeremy Sneller from Touchbyte & I headed to Plymouth on a road trip. thrilled to experience the Torpoint ferry which a first for me! To Royal William Yard for a coffee at the Bakery followed by a fab lunch at River Cottage Canteen with Katharine Bourke, Pippa Clark, & Deborah Edwards. Lively conversation over healthy food & lots of giggles! had a lovely afternoon in the sun at Residence one & caught up with Marie. To Bovey castle pm for a spectacular bash with the Marine Band, bubbles, canapes, and the great & good of Devon! My kind of bash! Ended the week with the Young Enterprise Regional Final at Culdrose: inspiring to see the young talent from the region!

Week off: Had a week off work but life continued as usual! Started with a birthday breakfast at Fifteen for the fab Daphne Skinnard, Cornwall's' First Lady. We were joined by the equally fab Claire Vickers and a jolly time was had by all! Onto Tehidy Golf Club for lunch and to look at their facilities which are excellent and they have a snooker table! Started Wednesday back at Fifteen for breakfast with Ewan, the grant guru of Cornwall and all round top man! Joined for coffee by Mathew to talk all things green! Thursday started early with the Chamber Bank of England breakfast which a little dry but good schmoozing! Onto Pirate to record my segment for Monday: big thank you to Isha for her patience & skill with the edit! Lunch in Truro at Salt Bar with Gerard the new CEO of Coodes: delightful company, stimulating conversation, and fab food! Spotted Nick Blandford & Lucy Hunt having a power lunch with Sarah Trethowan. Was the ROK 5K run pm which I helped MC with Daphne: huge fun, a great cause, & canapés & Fizz! ended evening wine tasting with my pals from HSBC & doing a talk on Logistics of Export. Took a long weekend to spend time with my sister who over from Kenya: walking, swimming, pub lunch & a final breakfast at Fifteen. Great eating & schmoozing!
