Pausing in the bnwphoto series to show off the #harp Vance built for me. It is in the style of a #paraguayanharp, modified from a #johnkovac #folkharp pattern. It is about 40" tall and has 26 strings, and he says is one of the harder things he has ever built, next to the house. But it really works, and looks and sounds beautiful. And it has finally reached a point where it will hold its tune for 24+ hours. So far I have learned to play 2 songs very slowly. He wants me to add it is made from eastern cherry with a Baltic birch plywood neck and a maple rib on the Engelmann spruce soundboard.
