I love that in the fandom (and maybe actual canon, I admit I haven't read the books yet) Sherlock loves bees, because in real life I am too. I was before I even got into the fandom. I remember during the final exams of secondary school when I was stressed out and terrified I would fail, I found a bee trapped inside my house dying. I remembered hearing somewhere you could rejuvenate bees with honey or sugar water and put it in the sun for warmth, so I sat with this bee for well over an hour out in our garden, feeding it and hoping it would live. And it did. It slowly got more lively and finally flew away, and I don't think I've ever actually been happier in my life (which might be very sad, but I don't care). Everything else didn't matter then, I was just happy I could save that little life. Lately I haven't been doing well, but thinking of that always makes me smile. Reading fics with Sherlock's love for bees always cheers me up and, weirdly, doesn't make me feel so alone. I'm sorry if this is very melodramatic, but I just love bees and they make me happy.
What a lovely story! And yes, I believe it was a Martin Freeman gifset of him saving a bee that let me also know about that way to save a bee too. <3. AND I believe in-canon, Sherlock retires to be a beekeeper, but I'm not 100 on that one.
I'm so sorry that you're having a rough go *HUGS* Fics also help me though my rough times too. I can offer you some Fics with bees in them if you'd like? And I welcome people to add their own too :)
