So Xmas highlighted one of the dichotomies that defines me - an internal tension, you could say. Or you could say that Xmas highlighted my hypocrisy. That would probably be more accurate. What I'm talking about is my constant railing against commercialism and waste, particularly in the lead-up to Xmas, contrasted with the gleeful grabbing pleasure I get from the acquisition of stuff. If I tried, I could probably justify myself in some way. But instead, I'm just gonna say, "Look at all this awesome stuff I got for Christmas!"
