Van Heflin as Jeff Hartnett in "Johnny Eager" (1941)
me and who
Lana Turner listens to music in her dressing room during production of the MGM/Mervyn LeRoy film noir Johnny Eager in September of 1941 (the movie took two months to make, from September 2nd to October 28th, 1941, and premiered in Los Angeles on December 9th, 1941). A lifelong music lover of many different styles and genres, Lana had a dedicated assistant hired to change her records during her 1940s-1950s MGM heyday as she liked to have music playing that suited the mood of whatever scene she was filming, a form of musical "Method Acting" which she used throughout her career.
If bringing back queerbait means more shit like this then so be it
got so sad to find out that nobody had excerpted Jeff's intro scene from Johnny Eager (1942) that I had to do it (badly) myself

📽 1941: Johnny Eager (a film noir thriller) starring Robert Taylor and Lana Turner.
Ruthless hood Johnny Eager (Taylor) is pretending to his parole officer that he has chucked the rackets and is working as a taxi driver. In fact, he's as deep into crime as he ever was and desperately needs official permission to open his new dog racing track.
When he meets up with Lisbeth Bard (Turner), the step-daughter of the district attorney, he finds she is not only stunning but a possible way to get his permit. (Metro Goldwyn Mayer)
