how did you get into twenty one pilots?

I LOVE GETTING THIS QUESTION (this is probably gonna be really long omg)

ok so this was in like september i think? idk i remember i was listening to a mix on 8tracks and car radio starts playing and im like “what….what is this” (my first impression was kinda neutral like i didnt love it but i didnt hate it) and after a while i kinda forgot about it 

a few months later my friend was mentioning them and i had seen people talk about them on tumblr a lot and i was like well are they as good as everyone says they are? so i went on spotify and the first album that shows up is vessel so im like ok. lets listen. i listened to ode to sleep first and i remember being OBSESSED with it like i loved the transitions…like, sound-wise it starts out kinda dark but then it gets all happy (lyrically it’s different of course) and idk that was so unique to me and i liked it a lot.

my first try listening to vessel was kinda me not paying much attention so a couple days later i gave it another try and i was like “wow….i like this a lot” and i bought vessel. i did some research to see who they were and to know their names and how many albums there were so i listened to regional at best and the self titled. i bought the self titled (since i couldn’t buy regional at best on itunes) and i started watching interviews and i was so like… dumbfounded by how smart tyler is. like a lot of the people in bands i like are generally smart but tyler is so different from them. i want to hear his opinions on everything. even little things, like oreos or a just a cardboard box. i just always want to hear what he has to say. and i remember that i originally liked josh a lot because he would sometimes interject into tyler’s long answers in interviews and say something funny and like he puts his heart and soul into playing those drums okay like him and tyler are a perfect match because they both give it their all and idk it just spiraled because i wound up falling in love with josh and  tyler because they’re genuinely amazing human beings. seriously, i think listening to them is one of the best decisions i’ve made so far

i just love them so much i’m getting really emotional
