Charles III took the throne in September of 2022, presently sixteen months and a couple of weeks ago. Edward VIII didn't quite manage the full year of 1936. This is just trivia and doesn't really matter, but if one's vigilant about even little things like this, one may be less likely to fall for deliberate disinformation. At least one person already reblogged with the correction, so as I have almost no followers I will submit it this way.
Mr. Pedant! Thanks so much for reaching out.
Yeah, I definitely made a couple of errors in calculation and I totally own up to that. Unfortunately I was thinking of a reign like a papacy and only counting from coronation days onwards, which complicated things because Edward VIII was never coronated as long as I can tell, and apparently a reign starts at the death of the previous monarch. I'm learning a lot from the tags tbh.
I've tried to address it a couple of times but the post has kind of taken on a mind of its own.
