Something happened a couple of weeks ago. I can’t say what. But it was like I was asleep and all of a sudden someone dunked me in ice cold water. It stripped me of the protective barriers I’ve built around myself in the past half year. It’s like when you crack through a tree’s bark and you can see the raw, fresh wood underneath.

I feel like the old me again. I’m sorry I changed.

I've become borderline obsessed with the concept of playing Minecraft, as soon as our laptop gets here that's the first thing I'm going to do. I managed to get back into the old Mojang account so I don't have to buy it again! Miracle of miracles! I have to change the display name, though. It's outdated and horrible.

There is no song on the face of the planet that hypes me up more than The Man by The Killers. I’ve listened to it so many times now.

There are a lot of underappreciated simple pleasures in life, e.g. washing your face, and eating frozen watermelon, and peeling off sunburned skin. I have the sudden urge to make smoothies as well. It's nice, being able to just do things.

If cassette tapes aren't in style anymore, then why would a cassette release of an album released just a couple of months ago be sold out? I can't help but wonder where the market for those would fall nowadays. Records I can sort of understand, but cassettes? Who on Earth is buying those?

I went for a short walk and I realized that I'm pretty homesick. I like where we live, really I do. The spring peepers are out in full force and right now it smells like mist and woodsmoke and fresh earth, and it's nice. It's just not quite the same. Although I'm not sure I would go back to everything I had before. Some of it was... Well. If you know, you know. This house puts me all out of sorts when certain other people are in it. Or maybe it's just the fact that everything's been out of sorts lately. I opened the window and wanted to listen to the outside sounds but the mother and grandmother talk so loudly that I really can't not have headphones in if I want to avoid anxiety. I don't really get it. But I guess it's just how things are.

Jeez. That was some storm. The power's still not back at home (the estimated date it'll be back is March 7th!). Wow! The roads are clear around here, but there are some trees and wires where they shouldn't be. But we're fine. We've got a generator, the phone is working, nothing hit the house, etc etc. What else? Last night's show was canceled, for obvious reasons perhaps, so we just have today's. The usual two. It's bittersweet. We'll be glad to be done, but it's Hiram's last show. (Oh, they painted their nails yesterday. Black. It's very goth in my opinion but I don't really mind. I can reflect the sun if I position my hands just so.)
