Located in a bleak industial area between Waterloo and Alexandria is an oasis of cool, John Smith Cafe. The name might be conservative, but the coffee is anything but - REBEL ROASTERS. These guys take their coffee seriously, and they are happy to share their knowledge of cold drip and brewing with you. Not only do JOHN SMITH do serious coffee, but they do a bloody good brunch too. The eggs benedict are legendary, and you'll have to get in early to try the popular daily special. This cafe with a bland name is anything but. It's out-of-the-way location on a busy road in Waterloo doesn't keep people away, with queues out the door most weekends. The staff are a delight; I had a filthy hangover and they worked hard to get me through it. They're all pretty easy on the eye too Try to sit in the window of this lovely little cafe, so you can sip your coffee and smile smugly at the car-bound commuters outside.
