She keeps her head ducked, backpack slung tight over her shoulder while another hand is kept inside of her purse. It was a stupid thing to do, not paying closer attention to the time, and before she had known it, the sun was down and Clarice had to trek back to her dorm in a city she barely knew.
Sensing more than a few gazes in her direction from a group of men huddled outside a bar, she quickly increases her pace and turns down an alley. The sooner she made her way back onto the bright lit paths of her campus, the better.
