A Manga I have gotten hooked on recently Hajime No Ippo.
It's about a boy named Ippo who has been bullied all his life until a pro boxer Takamura intervenes between his bullies and himself. After that interaction with Takamura he strives to be a pro boxer and the what it means to be strong.
It's a older manga with over a thousand chapters (surprisingly it's still an ongoing manga). Fun fact the author Joji Morikawa actually owns a boxing gym and occasionally is a second for his boxer (a second is the coach outside of the ring)
What I really enjoy with this series is seeing after every match he fights he gets better and his resolve get stronger. I've had moments where I am truly excited to see him win a grueling match. If you ever watched Haikyuu after an amazing win or a great rally the get super excited like this photo.
That's how I feel when I read this phenomenal manga. If you enjoy seeing consistent growth with in a character and getting to know funny characters they'll really grow on you.
Either way I recommend reading this manga. If you've been on the fence about reading what are you waiting for.
