please post more of your cat i like his tail it looks like he has a cottonball on the tip of his tail
Isn't it the most perfect thing?
Here's some good JoJo for you!
shoutout to cats for being exceedingly loud right before they vomit
shoutout also to my idiot cat who still has not figured out that eating the leaves off my tradescantia will make him vomit
I DID come follow you for pregnet cat updates but I'm staying anyway bc your Joestar reminds me a lot of my Grimalkin and your blog is cool too I think. but also do you know what rescue the Kitte Dumptruck is at? bc dangit I will follow them too
I apologize that there won't be any updates on our pargenant friend. I really wish I could follow her story once she leaves our store. Mostly because I desperately want to know how many babies fit inside that tabby catryoshka...
The rescue we work with, unfortunately, doesn't have much of a social media presence for me to share. The majority of their adoptions actually happen through PetSmart and Petco stores in my state, and they don't really do much on their own.
(Fun fact: JoJo came to me through them! One night, I heard my coworker telling the volunteer who cares for the adoption cats that "the black cat in the top cage doesn't seem too friendly, he hissed at me". I took that as a challenge and went to introduce myself. Kitty sniffed my hand, then plowed his head into it so hard that he lost his balance. And that was it.)
your cat is named for a what??
My cat's name is Joseph Joestar.
please enjoy this video of my cat, who is named for a fictional real estate tycoon, going full stupid
I made JoJo a toy this afternoon that I thought he would particularly enjoy, and it seems I hit the mark.
Ever since he got comfortable enough to start playing, I've been observing his play style and noting what toys seem to excite him the most. Play is such an important form of enrichment and stimulation for domestic cats, and a great way to reinforce your bonds with them. JoJo and I are still establishing our bond, and I knew that understanding how he played (and playing along with him) was important for us.
My observations: Ground-moving "prey" is much more exciting than aerial. Anything that can be swatted across the floor and chased will be. Feathers < plush. Bells and rattles are meh. Mylar is. The. Shit.
I combined all of this into a kicker toy, since I've sent him to try bunny-kick tiny crinkle balls. The head of the rat is stuffed with a catnip blend that seems to drive him wild. The body has a sheet of Mylar sacrificed from a ball that was, I guess, too big for his liking, because he ignored it completely in favor of the smaller ones.
Within seconds of introducing Flat Rat to him, he expressed his gratitude by grabbing its head and running out of the room.
He only played with it a little but before jumping onto the couch and my lap, because it's Bedtime now and he needs cuddles. But I think I did well.
Some things y’all don’t know about Joseph Joestar (aka, my cat) because I rarely post on tumblr anymore:
His favorite place to sleep is stretched across my throat.
He does a lil “dinner dance” in front of his feeding mat right before I put down the bowl with his wet food.
He is?? obsessed???? with the guitars under my bed?
He is very good at puzzle feeders.
He can hear the difference between me pouring treats into my hand and me pouring pills into my hand, but sometimes comes running at really awkward times because I guess he forgets?
He’s very high INT, low WIS.
He’s an absolute slut and follows my lap around the house all day so that he can sprawl dramatically across it for belly rubs.
For a while there, I was gonna name him Jotaro but I decided to go with Joseph because he’s Smart and Ridiculous and very very good at running away from things.
When he is being stupid, which is often, I put on my best D’Arby voice and address him as “Mistajosterr”.
Initially, whenever he found a cool toy, he would take it down to the basement and add it to a pile, and not touch it ever again. Only recently has he started to bring toys up out of his hoard and play with them in front of me.
He drinks so much water and pees like five times a day. He shows no other symptoms that would suggest kidney or thyroid issues. He’s probably just a thirsty boi. (I plan for a full workup on his first vet visit in January, just to make sure.)
Does not seem to understand what a cat tree is for.
possibly Chaotic Good, definitely Chaotic Stupid
