Jared Leto’s new Joker - personal opinion
The word is out. Or better said: the first picture of Jared as The Joker is. First thing I said? ‘Holy shit!!’. But now, an hour later I think I can say something else. First off I’d like to say that this is a picture. ONE PICTURE. Yesterday (April 24) was the 75 anniversary of the character and this pic of Jared’s Joker is most probable a simple tribute for that. I highly doubt that this will be the final look of Joker Jared. It’s too soon.... way too soon. And let me remind you that a lot of us (especially the Echelon lol) have been talking and talking about the matter because of the ‘leaked’ pics of Jared with a mobile sharing a possible look of his characterization to someone else, plus the pics that came out of him going out for lunch in which we could see his green hair and also there’s a screen cap. of VyRT where we spotted something that looked as a tattoo but wasn’t Jared’s and that triggered a lof ot alarms and the speculation about a dragon tattoo started. Because of ALL of THIS it’s more than probable that they decided to make something for the Anniversary and also to give us something to make us happy and to give us talking to really talk about. But I’m about 98% sure this is not the final look. On the other hand let me tell you something: I’ve listened and read more times than I can count people saying not really nice things about an actor when he steps in the shoes of a well known character for the first time. Do I have to remind you all how most people reacted for the very first time to Heath Ledger’s Joker? Do I have to mention how people reacted when they found out that Jared Leto was going to play a transexual dying of AIDS in a new movie or when the first pics of him as Rayon came out? (or how they reacted then the movie started to be popular without actually watching it first?). Well, let me tell you what both of those characters and actors ended up having: A FUCKING OSCAR (among other awards). So do yourselves a favor and stop talking shit. Wait for the movie to come out next year. Wait until you have something else than one single picture that comes out in April 2015, the day after the Joker’s Anniversary and it’s most probably only a tribute and not the official look of Jared as the character. He is working on the MOVIE, so wait until you see and hear him on it. Don’t take things for granted this easy. Wait and witness a performance. I’ve seen people throwing shit to Jared because of his acting and the same people saying that they didn’t watch a full movie of him, only clips or previews or trailers. FOR FUCKING SAKE. I’ve seen people saying that because he has done only one movie in his life he can’t be the new Joker. Ladies and gentleman, Jared leto has done +20 movies in his life, “Requiem for a dream” or “Mr. Nobody” among others. The last movie he did was “Dallas Buyers Club” and that one finally threw light over him, and it was quite a surprise to a lot of people but some of us knew it was about time and that he deserved it. Finally. Something typical of Jared, something that he always does when he accepts a role is taking it in 100%. He becomes the character. Not only on set, he doesn’t do that. Obviously he is not becoming a serial murder because he is now working on The Joker but I’m sure as hell that he is taking in absolutely every aspect of that popular character. He knows how to do it properly, just have a little faith (and respect his work). Based on one picture there’s no way in hell people can know how it will turn out in the end. And I repeat once again: highly doubting that this will be his final look. So chill, take it easy, take a deep breath and wait. This is only the beginning and it’s gonna be one hell of a ride until the final product comes out. Have faith in Jared. He knows how to do it properly and if he have had the slightest inch of doubts about not being able to do this job, he wouldn’t have accepted it in the first place. So, again: calm down. And most importantly: respect him.
