Can I just talk about these life ruiners for a second
Oh my god I don't even know why I like them so much.
No, seriously.
I don't even know why I like the Joker so much. Maybe it's because I can get into his head so well- whether that's a good thing or a bad thing I'm not really sure but there you have it.
I love the idea of being the Joker. Not killing people, not that bit, but having fun. With whatever makes me happy. Having fun and making jokes (some, obviously, in bad taste, but let's face it, not everyone is going to like every joke all the time), and just being annoying as hell sometimes.
and at first when I found this pairing I was like NO WAIT GROSS WHY WOULD YOU NO PLEASE NO TAKE IT AWAY I DON'T WANT ANY THANK YOU
and then I read shit like I did TODAY in fucking DEATH OF THE FAMILY
(actually let's not get started on Death Of The Family that's a whole other can of worms that I WILL NOT OPEN because once I get on that soap box I WILL NOT GET OFF)
And then you get Batman. Someone who, let's face it, isn't always sure he's a good guy anymore. I mean, in the Justice League, or in the Animated Series, it's pretty plain that yes things are black and white Batman is GOOD and Joker is BAD, but when you get into the comics and the recent video games and the newer movies, it's like, Bats. Bats what are you doing. Bats no.
They were made to be yin and yan. If you're a part of the fandom and that didn't stick out like a broken batarang you need to go back and watch or read more stuff and PAY FUCKIN ATTENTION OKAY? OKAY.
They are yin and yan, they balance each other out. Joker will never destroy Batman, and Batman will never destroy Joker. They are in this endless cycle, and as much as Batman wants to pretend that he is firmly good, though his cowl may be soiled, let's face some facts here. He belongs to the Joker.
If the Joker's fuckin shit up, Batman drops whatever the fuck he's doing (even if it's with another criminal) and runs to him to stop him. Joker is top priority, he is always top priority, and he will always be top priority, and that's just the way Joker wants it.
Joker talks. He wants the attention on him. And Batman gives that to him. How could he possibly destroy the one person that gives him a challenge? The one person who can keep up, who created him?
Because let's not forget that bit. Batman pushed his ass into some chemicals and when he came out it was like blinded by the light because now homeboy looks like a fuckin' snowdrift with some fucked up paint splashed about it.
I love the dynamic of fighting and fucking basically being the same thing. I like that Batman's not always sure if he's a good guy and Joker's not always sure that he's a bad guy, even though he tries to tell himself he's manly as hell.
I just. Love them. So much.
And Death Of The Family will make me CRY I FUCKING SWEAR
