Suddenly, she simply found herself pinning the other against the wall - well, he could probably free himself easily, she was not too strong physically, so it couldn’t be too hard - and pressing her lips against his own.

It was just a normal, maybe a bit firm kiss. After a moment, she pulled away, but did not take her hands away from his wrists, just loosened her grip on them a bit more.

“No. No, I’m not going anywhere,” Mei-Rin shook her head, trembling in fear. Yes, she knew it was around her due date, but she was still not really prepared for this.

Standing there with her arms wrapped around her belly, she looked at the mortician - who had become her husband two weeks before - not quite sure what to do right now. Although her water had just broken, she really did not want to see the doctor. It would be better if they called a midwife... but they couldn’t be sure if there was one available at that moment.

“I’m scared of doctors,” she confessed. “Can... can I not do this here, not... not in the hospital?”
