He had broken the beaker. Accidentally knocked it over with his elbow as it sat in the corner of the table. The sound of shattering glass made him flinch, look about wildly to see if there was any camera about. Wouldn’t do good to be caught breaking school property, especially when he already had little money for his meals.

Down he went on his knees, grabbing a cloth on the way to dry the floor of the substance; was it poisonous to skin? Not exceptionally acidic or alkaline, so he should be okay. But was that the lab door opening too?

I’m more mad at ‘im than I am at you.” It was one thing finding out Sherlock was ALIVE. Half of him expected it but he hadn’t let himself get his hopes up. It was another thing finding out he’d been lied to by someone else that he trusted. He pulled out his pack and lit up a cigarette, taking a drag. “...I know ‘s no’ good for me.” He’d already heard all the different reprimands since he’d picked up the habit again.
