               with  a  slight  tilt  of  her  head  &&  a  tiny  squint  of  her  eyes  ,  rosalie  leans  back  to  get  a  better  view  of  her  sister’s  creation  .  she  still  can’t  .  in  her  sister’s  defense  ,  it’s  only  the  beginning  stages  of  the  dress  but  the  blonde  doesn’t  see  how  it  would  end  well  .   ❝  perhaps ----  now  it  is  only  an  opinion  ----  perhaps  using  a  different  fabric  ?   ❞

Her story was there, in black and white on those pages, her voice finally heard by so many. Her greatest achievement, her biggest mistake.

Seeing her brother holding a copy in his hands, the photograph of her younger self on the cover clasped in his grip, she felt a sense of uneasiness. Five seemed to be the only sibling that didn’t hate her for what she’d done, for the words that she’d written about their family on those pages. She couldn’t bear the thought of him turning on her too.

“You don’t have to read that.”

Voice lowered as she gestured to the book, before reaching up to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear. Five had once been one of her closest companions, yet she found it hard to talk to him like she used to. They were practically strangers now.

     he felt the waves of insecurity, the push and pull of her painful judgment of herself next to rosalie, like a stabbing knife in his stomach. he sat down awkwardly next to her — he still wasn’t used to sitting, and he knew he looked uncomfortable and out-of-place, like some sort of feral creature coming in from the outdoors to play at humanity — and touched her hand with his. that, at least, wasn’t awkward. it hadn’t been from the start.  “i thought you’d be happier, bein’ here with them.”  she’d talked of little else since he met her; she’d been so eager for them to join with their family.    //    @oraculumin  /  plotted starter  ;  closed

   No one’s ever left him like that.  It’s well deserved after what he did.  Got tongue tied and messed up badly.  Probably ruined their relationship with one word.  One name that still made him sick to think of.  And that was why Alice had left.  Bolted.  Fled in a fit of rage and pain that made him unable to go after her.  He wanted to, of course.  Wanted to run after her, apologize fifty more times and make her see that it was just a stupid mistake.  But she was angry, furious and past experience told him to avoid people with those emotions at all costs.  Especially when those people looked very similar to her.  He couldn’t stick to the diet alone.  She warned him about slip ups, problems.  One slip of the tongue had cost him everything and left him more alone than ever.

HE TURNED SLIGHTLY TO LOOK at her. Integrating the newcomers into their family had not been as difficult as Edward would have assumed before they arrived. He and Alice got on like a house on fire, and he felt decidedly comfortable with her. Her curiosity of their pasts had not come as a surprise. Three times now he had explained the situation that led to him becoming a vampire. What he hadn’t expected was her question.

“Sometimes,” he admitted, thinking of his dim memories of long, bronze curls and bright green eyes. “More so in the beginning, I think. It was quite a shock -- to hear my mother was dead and that I was no longer human in the same night.” Not that he blamed Carlisle -- it wasn’t like the poor man know his thoughts were no longer private. “It’s easier now. We’re at a time where I may have lost her regardless of the illness. That makes it... less difficult to accept.”
