Bassie Doodles + Brief Analysis of Her Thoughts on Shelly and Astro
Here's a chaotic scribble i made of her and her angst— the text in the black all references to either gossip or dialogues she exchanges between the mains. It's interesting how much she basically idolizes them, not completely understanding they have their own struggles. Makes sense since her perception of the mains is clouded by her own insecurities!

(Feel free to not read what's below— im just rambling on Bassie and her fellow mains)
I find her thoughts around Shelly and Astro particularly interesting.
She seems closest to Shelly (to some extent). Her elevator dialogue only shows her knowing Shelly's name + revealing she sees Shelly as highly as all the other mains (to me at least). The last bit of the dialogue when she says she trues to remember the names of all the mains goes to show Shelly is another main she wishes she could live up to. I mainly think she's close to Shelly bc of the gossip— it hints to her and Shelly potentially spending more time together. If not, there's something special about Shelly she sees.
(Honestly, I'm a little disappointed these are the crumbs we get of these two. I know Vee and Bassie literally have the same worries, but Shelly seems more like she can comfortably level-down with Bassie and relate to her struggles as well. They both feel like they do not make adequate mains and thus have strong confidence issues! Like??? Imagine the interesting dialogue we could get if the game better addressed this!!)
I used to think Bassie was afraid of Astro because he can access her dreams. But then I read her gossip... She doesn't have a problem with him as a person— she just doesn't want him to intrude on her dreams. I strongly believe Bassie has dreams about her insecurities or jealous towards Cocoa— something angst related for sure. She's likely worried if anyone knew how insecure she is, that would undermine her value as a main. Astro, having access to her dreams, is a direct threat to her (frankly weak) front shes's trying to put up.
(I love Astro's ability to access people's dreams!! It creates such intriguing conflicts between him and other toons, like Bassie!)
I could talk sm more about Bassie but i feel like certain aspects of her + character interactions deserve more in-depth future posts
Kay, im done yammering. If i find time to draw a decent Bassie render again, expect more rambles.
