This is not what I usually do, but I stopped in the studio of this artist last week, and I decided he and his work are worth mentioning. He grew up in eastern Pennsylvania, like the Wyeths, and paints, among other things, some of the same landscapes I take pictures of. His vision is a little different, of course, but it was still fun to see the paintings. Some of the ones in the first book, The Pinnacle Landscapes, must have been painted in exact places where I have since taken pictures posted on this blog! And the Pinnacle is in the background in a lot of his landscapes. This isn’t a paid ad or anything. He doesn’t know, and probably wouldn’t care, that I’m posting about his work. I just thought some of you might find it interesting. If I had a little more money, I might buy one or two of them myself. They are really good prices, considering what they are. But even if you have no money, like most people I know, you might enjoy looking at his website, or, better yet if you’re out that way, stopping in at his studio. He has lots of paintings that aren’t on the website. I hope no one minds that I did this. I think he loves the land as much as we do. <3
