Other Side - Beat Happening
Got to hand it to Beat Happening. This song is the perfect start for my soundtrack of the summer. Enjoy.
I want to write for Adventure Time and Pen Ward
Scared Famous - Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti
If you notice, those drum beats aren't actually drums. They are Ariel Pink beat boxing into his dad's 8-track recorder. I love lo-fi. There is such a charm to it that I can't resist. I think its the feeling I get when I think the artist is making music to make music, not for profit. They'll make music anyway they can, no matter what the quality. And that's what I love about lo-fi.
The Album Scared Famous was originally released in 2001 in a limited press. But then Later re-released again in 2007 under Ariel's Human Ear Music label. You may think those two Scared Famous albums would be one in the same. But you would be wrong. The track listing is a little different with a few songs form FF thrown in the second release. But not only that but the some of the songs are different mixes compared to the first release. This title track is of the original release of Scared Famous. And I like it better.
God bless lo-fi and the ablity to record your own music at home.
