Winterman Doodle 30/07/15

 I did this doodle a while ago. It's taken me a long time to upload it because.....well if I'm honest, it's because I'm Lazy. Anyway the story behind this is image is one day I sat down to draw a new doodle and I had no idea what to draw. So I just decided to draw a cartoon of me thinking "What should I draw?".

Now the doodle is un-true. I know what to draw. I have plenty of things to draw. There's that commission I got to finish, and there's my secret project, and of course I'm working on the Pen Portrait sketches again. Also since this drawing I have worked on a couple new doodles.

However as much as I think an artist should draw what they want, I also think it's important to think about the desires of their audience. So to my wonderful viewers I ask this: What would you like to see me doodle in this A6 size sketchbook next?

Winterman Doodle 05/07/15

'Breaking The Rules'

 So I've decided from here on out, to ignore the rules that I made up for this doodle project. The rules about not using anything but a pen, and no using reference images. Ye forget all that.

I originally put those rules into place so this project would differ from my old daily doodles. And even though I'm a big believer in persevering even when things aren't going the way you want them too. However I'm also a big believer in realising when the thing your doing isn't working, and realising that it isn't the thing you need right now.

What I need at the moment is more doodles produced at a quick rate, and I can't do that with these rules I've created for myself. While I work on my portrait, and other secret projects, I need doodles that are quick and easy to produce. So I hope to be uploading a lot more stuff in the future.

 'Broken'

Before I get any messages or comments. No! There is no intended deeper meaning, or hidden message behind this image. You are welcome to interpret any idea, message, or meaning for yourself. Heck if you (the viewer) have some connection with this image, that is fantastic! But for me this is just a cool drawing I did.

So no I am not the broken silhouetted person in this image. I am not secretly damaged, nor do I have a case of a broken heart (at this moment in time). And maybe my fear that people will worry about me, after seeing this image is unfounded. But just to be clear. I thought up the image, and it's very obvious title. Drew said image, and am currently uploading it to the internet.

Red Card Pen Portrait Sketch 06/01/15

Do I really have to tell you who this guy is?.....Okay. For those of you who don't know Hugh Jackman is an Australian born actor and singer, who has appeared in over 30 films. Including 'Van Helsing', 'Happy Feet', 'Swordfish', 'Rise of the Guardians', 'The Prestige', and many more.He has also hosted four Tony awards and the 2009 Oscars. I like most of you were introduced to him, and best know him for playing Wolverine in the X-men films. He is next set to appear as Blackbeard in the 2015 film 'Pan'.

My Resolutions for 2015

I want 2015 to be an important year in my life. I want 2015 to be the year of productivity. This post is a sneak peak for you guys, but it's primarily here for me. It's here so at the end of the year I can hopefully say that not only did I for fill all my resolutions, but that 2015 was indeed productive and awesome year for me.

The resolutions down below are mainly art based. Yes I have more personal resolutions, some I'll discuss and some I won't. Like I want to work out more (which is what the dumbbell's from Christmas are for). And I want to hang out with loved ones, and go to more galleries, and more comic conventions, but ye these are just my art resolutions:

1) Draw/Make art everyday. It can be a little doodle or a massive painting, and I don't have to upload something everyday, but I have to draw at least once everyday. Yes future me that includes holidays, birthday, and Christmas.

2) Finish sketchbooks. I hate unfinished sketchbooks. There are 3 in mind that I'm thinking of, including the first Red Card sketchbook. I want those full by the end of the year.

3) Start and continue to work on all the colour card projects. This includes Red, Blue, Yellow, Orange, Purple, and Green. Each as it's own sets of theme's and goal's. I really have enjoyed working on the red card project, and I'm looking forward to the other colour card projects as well. As you can see the blue cards are already written out. Can you guess the theme?

4) Learn to paint with oils. I can paint quiet well with acrylics and watercolours, but I've never really gotten around to using oils, and I haven't really had anyone teach me how to paint with oils. So this year I'm going to teach myself.

5) Get back into Photography. I really enjoy photography but I've never owned a really good camera. Well that's all about to change. Be prepared to see some more photography work next year. I'll probably give that work it's own blog, so look out for that.

I hope that I can mange these tasks. As I hope you guys will continue to stick around, and enjoy all the new work I'll be posting.

2014 Review Part 2

  I admit I haven't been as focused on my artwork, as much as I should have. I like drawing and I shall continue to do so into the next year. Something I shall discuss in greater detail tomorrow. That being said, I have been encouraged by the positive feedback my work has been getting this past year. An artist is nothing without an audience. So I thank you, all of you who like, reblog, share, and follow my work. I hope to continue to improve, and I hope you mange to stick with me. I'm just getting started.
