Hi! I've read that Jon has positive memories of Sansa but when he learned about her marriage with Tyrion n involvement in regicide why he has no thoughts on them? I'm not saying that he should go rescue her like arya bcoz it's not possible as he didn't know where was she but at least he give thoughts about her whereabouts like she is also in forces marriage n his opinion on Tyrion also can Change.
Hi there!
In contrast to fArya who is at Winterfell, Sansa married Tyrion while Jon was with the wildlings. He didn’t hear about her marriage to Tyrion, Joffrey’s death and her disappearance until after he rejoined the Night’s Watch. Also at the time he hears about Sansa’s marriage he is Black brother who is on probation so to say.
So, the difference couldn’t be bigger: a) Jon’s situation: Lord Commander vs. Black Brother in disgrace b) the situation of the sister: married to a man who is known for his brutality vs. married to a man whom Jon considers a friend (however ill advised this might be) and c) the whereabouts of the sister: in Winterfell (which Jon knows in and out) vs. whereever.
So, to all the people who say: If he loved Sansa the same as Arya, he would try to rescue her as well... to which I answer: HOW, HOW.
And I would also add, that even though he thinks he knows where (f)Arya is, he still tries his best not to break his oath to the watch by sending Mance to infiltrate Winterfell.
It is only, after he thinks that his plan failed, and the vague hope that Melisandre’s viewing of the ‘girl in grey’ might turn out to be true, came to nothing, that he takes action, not as Lord Commander, but as a leader who hold the allegiance of some of the Freefolk (which he did not have at the time Sansa married.).
So, he can’t do anything about Sansa, he just can’t. And that is why he doesn’t think of her. He tends to think about the problems he can do something about. About rescuing as many of the Freefolk as he can. But he does not waste energy to do things he can do nothing about. He is quite practical in that regard. Efficient, intelligent. That does not mean that he feels nothing about it.
Because, as to how he sees Sansa, that can be easily answered. Stannis calls her Lady Lannister, repeatedly, and what does Jon say:
“Winterfell belongs to my sister Sansa.”
This tells you all you need to know. Despite her marriage to Tyrion, despite her disapperance, for Jon she is the rightful ruler of Winterfell, even is she is not available at the moment. And he is prepared to step back for her claim, when she is not even fucking there to stake her claim. If that is not love, I just don’t know.
Thanks for the ask!
