ADRIAN finds VINCENT bothering JAMES and JOHN and you couldn’t imagine how hard it was for her not to just shoot him right there and then.

“Leave them now, sergeant.” Adrian warned Vincent as calm as she could despite wanting to pull the trigger of the gun she had pointed at his head.
Vincent huffed. Bold of a subordinate like Adrian to be talking to him like that. “May I remind you that you that you answer to—”
“I answer to Major Ferguson, Lieutenant Cooper, Lieutenant O’Brian, and Captain Lyithara exclusively.” Adrian hissed, her grip on the gun becoming tighter that her hand began to shake. “And might I remind you that I’m not official NERO personnel that can be bossed around like any of these obedient motherfuckers.”
“They’ll kill you if you kill me—”
“You have no idea of what fuckin’ privileges I have, Wake.” She grabbed the gun with both hands now. Adrian’s fury began to hang in the air that John and James were more scared of her than Vincent himself. “Hurt the doctor or the lieutenant, and you’ll find out what those privileges exactly are.”
Vincent sighed, more annoyed than worried, and eased himself. Adrian saw his shoulders releasing and so she began to lower her gun too. She immediately regretted doing so when Vincent spun right around and kicked the gun out of her hands.
She raised her hands to block Vincent’s next attack, but she didn’t expect him to just grab her and within seconds, her hands were locked behind her back and her body was slammed against the wall.
“Adrian!” John yelled.
Leon and Cate burst into the room instantaneously after hearing all the yelling of both Adrian and Vincent, and just as quick as how Vincent pinned Adrian to the wall, he was found halfway across the room on the floor. Leon shoved Adrian, John, and James behind him while Cate took the front line. Leon must’ve thrown Vincent too hard by the way he was struggling to get off the floor, but literally no one cared at that point.
“What have I told you about picking on the researchers, Wake?” Cate yelled, trying to hold back from just beating him already. “What the fuck do you have against our subordinates?”
“These weak shits don’t deserve to have all these perks we get.” Vincent spat, slowly stumbling to his feet. “Your fuckin’ boyfriend doesn’t even know how to fire a gun,” He gestured to James then pointing to John. “let alone that doctor—”
“John knows how to fucking shoot, bitch.” Adrian instantaneously shot back. This genuinely surprised John. The specialist standing up for him? “He just doesn’t shoot anything alive,” She spared John a glance. “even if they’re an unbearable asshole like you.”
Vincent just laughed and flimsily straightened himself. “Your fucking boyfriends are weak shits I tell you.” Adrian tried to pounce at him, but Cate held her back. Cate having to force Adrian not to kill him made Vincent smirk. “I’m leaving.”
He walked away. Cate let him walk away. Once he was out of the room and out of sight, Cate, with a sigh, finally let Adrian go. John panicked when she did so though, so before Adrian took more than a step, the doctor grabbed her shoulders and spun her around to him.
“Rie — Rie, stop it,” John grabbed her wrists when she tried to fight back. “it’s over. I’m alright, okay?”
While John and James calmed Adrian down a the side, Cate and Leon were concerned about this happening again. Even though Vincent and Adrian heard about each other, this was their very first meeting, and it went worse than anyone would’ve expected.
“Wake and Adrian are going to kill each other the next time they make the slightest bit of eye contact, Cate. What are we gonna do about it?” Leon asked, nervously fiddling with his fingers.
Cate sighed. To be honest, she had no idea. “Wake’s an asshole, and we can’t stop assholes like him, and Adrian? Your girlfriend?” She and Leon worriedly glanced at her. “Her erraticism won’t be able to save Wake from her. She’s a good person, but she has her limits, and John’s one of them.”
John wordlessly hugged Adrian and held her close. She laid her head on his chest and let herself sink into his embrace while he rocked them gently from side to side. Leon smiled at this.
“She’s not mine,” He shrugged. “but I know that with a bit of persuasion, we can persuade Adrian not to kill Wake on sight.”
