Peter & Company Animated Pilot UPDATE: Storyboards Are GO!!
It's been a long, long time since I've posted updates concerning the animated Peter & Company pilot episode, but I am excited to announce that we are now moving forward with production! After five years of intermittent updates and slowed progress due to life events, our team is getting everything rolling again and has moved into the storyboard phase.
Included here are sample panels of a sequence from the opening of the pilot episode, wherein Peter has a nightmare about his first time meeting Whitney. Suddenly in mid-kiss, Peter hears Seth's voice, and we see that Whitney's mouth has suddenly (and disturbingly) morphed into a duck bill.
A note about storyboards: These are intended to be rough sketches, rather than refined, detailed illustrations, meant simply to convey the action and characters within a scene. As we have several artists working on storyboards for the pilot, the specific art style used in the boards will differ between artists and may not reflect the final look of the pilot itself. These will ultimately be compiled into an animatic version of the pilot episode, which will then be shared online once complete.
This sequence specifically was storyboarded by Christopher Wade, the voice of Seth and a super-talented cartoonist and animator. The rest of the storyboard team consists of myself, Whitney, and Chris's wife Serena.
We are going to begin working on storyboards during dedicated streaming days each week on Picarto; samples from each scene will be uploaded as timed Patreon exclusives throughout each month. At the end of the month, an update roundup for the pilot will be posted to Tumblr and Facebook to summarize the progress that has been made for the general public.
