I was tagged by justmoffattingaround to list ten films that I watched in 2014 that are important to me. I guess I'll just do 2014 releases since I can't remember what other movies I watched for the first time this year. Also 'important' means a different thing for every film on this list, so it's not necessarily my favorites of the year. With that long winded preamble here we go:
Gone Girl
Selma
Boyhood
We Are the Best
How to Train Your Dragon 2
Dear White People
Wild
Into the Woods
Obvious Child
22 Jump Street

I'm writing an essay on Macbeth. Wanna switch?
haha yes. that'd almost definitely be less emotionally devastating right now, and i'm in the shakespeare mindset for another class anyway... You should just lowkey write a paper on Throne of Blood instead, I'm sure that'd be fine
jonathanthefilmbuff said: I disagree with you. I think Christopher Nolan is one of the greatest action directors working today. I love him as a writer, his writing is sloppy, but he respects the audience and treats them like smart individuals.
nah though like his action rlly aint anything similar to cause + effect and the scenes are messy.... the visual grammar in almost each scene is off + it's edited so obviously... i also don't even agree with him respecting the audience lmao like Nolan leaves absolutely nothing to the imagination and theres nonstop exposition 4 a better part of 40 minutes of the movie.. it's all so laid out and explained and laid out and explained over and over again it's a miracle that the movie worked for me... it's just so damn literal like i wish Nolan could let us use our imagination and not show EVERYTHING or explain EVERYTHING just let me use my damn head sweetie

I was tagged by miss-jitterbug to list my 5 favorite movies that I’d watch if I were stuck on a desert island. (sorry cutie for taking so long to answer!) In no order, and bearing in mind these were selected for rewatchability: - Singin' In the Rain (Stanley Donen and Gene Kelly) - The Lord of the Rings trilogy yes I'm counting it as one shut up (Peter Jackson) - A Clockwork Orange (Stanley Kubrick) - The Royal Tenenbaums (Wes Anderson) - Laura (Otto Preminger)

You should try watching about 3 episodes before you say it's overrated. I think it's a pretty great show.
