There was always an argument in the Tae-Won household between Kye’s parents. Whether it was about money or who was spending time at the house; he always seemed pulled into the middle. Personally, he wanted nothing to do with any of it; which is why he usually ended up spending time around his other family members. Living on the same property for decades, their clan stuck close with a handful of others in order to preserve their race. It was during that time that he came to know a girl his age who was leaving for boarding school. Upon her insistence, Kye set a plan in motion in order to do the same. Not the same school, mind you, but getting out of their sheltered life was what he needed. Kye’s parents compromised over his education. His father had attended a private school near town, while his mother was home schooled; Greenwood was the middle ground between two that had almost nothing in common. They didn’t want to hurt his studies, but they also knew that their lifestyle left them no time to educate their son themselves. Thus, when he was eleven years old, the Tae-Wons boarded their only child at the southern school and hoped for the best.
Not one of them really had any idea what they were getting into. His interest in divination revealed something unusual about him–a strong aptitude for the Sight. He has been trying to avoid telling anyone of what jolts him awake at night; images of blood, terror and death that can only be harbingers of a war to come. In an effort to stem the flow of the future, he took up the artistic pursuits that he excels in today. In fact, ‘artistic’ is a great word to describe the young dragon, who often spends his time scribbling nonsensical rhymes in the margins of class notes alongside little sketches of “nothing specific”. If he could have his way, he would be as oblivious to the future as his classmates. If he weren’t so painfully shy and prone to stress-stuttering, Kye would probably be the most adored sophomore on campus. Instead, the native Korean bookworm is content to divide his time evenly between the library and the lake, always looking for a cozy spot to read without being interrupted. If you can get the boy to speak at an audible level, his opinions are well-researched and quite sound.
